Questions being asked of CEO

How many times was I asked did he run over my cat …..... when I constructively criticised him !!!
He simply has to go.

I'm starting to think the same way now … Seems like he's just like us ... A keyboard warrior ?

right now there are alot of names that have been drawn into the mud.
smith
potter
farah
payten

i have no idea what is true.
i also remember last year farah having a go at management about recruitment last year.
now suddenly his name is the one brought up most often.

i said at the time last year that farah needed to shut his mouth, and i think now he is paying for it.

we have had poor leadership from the board, ceo and captain.
with farah saying he wanted no part in the coaching decision, gives me some hope that once he gets his head right he may finally become the captain i hoped he would become.

i have no faith in management

Everything relates back to our current board.

Three have their favourite journos they leak to and all three have had a major run in this saga.

Proof positive that being able to bilk asian families in poker machine palaces or being a "former legend" are both terrible fits for running a football club.

All this started with the board leaking to their sources how Potter was done, how the playing group had approached a sponsor to backdoor through to the board. Every skerrick of this garbage comes from the weather man led group or inept, self serving morons

Fox sports just conducted an exclusive interview with our very own grant mayer and all i can say is the sooner we get rid of this amateur as our CEO the better it will be for our club. The attention seeking clown is in no way fit enough to run a football club in its entirety and is better suited to a less important role like PR or the running of game day. He has overseen some good changes like a better game day experience, pre-game and half-time entertainment and introduced some cheaper ticket pricing and offers; however i have noticed that he has very out of touch with the on-field type of things and if anything is the one who fails to communicate with the players. I know he is the CEO and as a result is the authoritarian figure but the way he conducts himself with football matters like the re-signing of teddy, the campo crowd debacle and this whole saga is a blight on his tenure as CEO and depicts him as a power/attention driven individual. When asked about the editing of the video you could visually see him buckle with his response and I'm convinced he is the one (could be the board's wishes) trying to get rid of potter and by not revealing the player's support for Potter it gives him even more motive. He has improved numerous areas within the club since he started however for every good thing he has done he has made a monumental stuff up or two which isn't good enough for someone in his position.

Sounds like Robbie is supportive of coach potter but the same can't be said about the backing of his boss. After watching the fox sports interview i don't think Mayer is all that keen on Robbie either, which leads to the question, who has to go more ? robbie or mayer? i reckon both need to sit down and work out their differences and Mayer needs to do some explaining; but it would be good if robbie could brush it all aside and help his team out at a time when they need him the most..

You can not have the drama of the past week without some major fall out and the way I see it, Mayer has handled things very poorly. So if their is to be a fall guy, it could possibly be him. Anyway like everyone else Iam not privy to the real facts and rely on this forum and the media to make my calls, so maybe Iam right off the money, but to me it is the old story–the buck stops with the boss

I'd like to see Bailey go he is a useless Chairman….

Too many people need to just take a breathe in this saga. We all know it's an ego driven business but gee, every interview is full of self importance.

I worry about the outcome of all of this.

Why is Robbie not at training? When in every previous instance of player concern, the player is told that staying in the normal routine is best?

What about Potter? Out of everyone he seems to be handling it best in public. How is he doing privately though? His best outcome is to make the finals, good luck now Mick.

What about our favoured board? Everything they have done or not done has been criticised be all quarters.

The CEO? Rubbish at the top, trifle at the bottom, soft cream in the middle what to do?

What happens now for our NRL team? We're not the tough Manly side, we're not the Dogs of War, we're not the baby Broncos, we're not the relentless Storm. These teams have often shown that they can win when under the pump.

We, however, don't handle adversity too well at all.

My whole take on things is that Mayer has a dislike for Ayoub and his players. Koro is an Ayoub player so is Tedesco and Farah.
I still dont know why Koro went and the way he [This word has been automatically removed]ed over Teddy was disgracefull. Robbie even came out and said he wasn't Happy with the way Management handled the whole thing.
Now his editing Robbie's opinion on the coach.

think we are now seeing Mayers true colours Watched the fox interview and he was a very nervous man and tried to be assertive but kept fluffing his words. Usually see this happen when someone says one thing..but means something else. A fish rots at the head..and I don't like the smell

Do his band of supporters on this forum still support him. Many that fell for his approach seem to be steering clear on commenting. Is this a sign that they still support him. All I know is Mayer has to go for the club to move forward.

I did, but I really shouldn't have. Of late, I've sent him a few tweets telling him as much. Not that Im a big fan of twitter, but thought it might be the only way to get to him.

there's obviously so much going on behind the scenes that we dont know, or that we cant tell if its true or not.

therefore, i think judging mayer based on this absolute shambles of a board (while its in transition) is not very fair.

he's a good and logical thinker. He and potter have recruited effectively both amongst the staff and players. They just need more time to put in this independent board and I suspect things will run a lot smoother afterwards.

I just watched that interview with FOX Sports. Mayer seemed awfully smug. Suggesting that everyone is happy with Potter finding out where he stands at seasons end is simply ludicrous. And saying the fans are sick of the conjecture, well, I don't know. I think the fans are sick of people with agendas treating a fantastic and very capable bloke like garbage. Better off telling him he aint the man for 2015 now so he can pick up a job elsewhere. That would be the decent thing to do.

I was a fan of mayer but when the s**t hits the fan he disappears, now its just about over he starts talking on tv he is one I wouldn't like in my trench in troubled times

Trying to pick my way through the big pile of excrement that surfaced last weekend, I somehow doubt that Mayer is the one with the destabilising agenda. My read is that he's just piggy in the middle.
I think the destabilising agenda is either being lead by Farah, or by one or more board members. I tend to think it is the board judging by Mayer's actions, although the longer Farah sooks the more he draws attention his way. Though I don't think Mayer is the destabilising influence I don't think he's handled things well and that may be because it is a board member behind the mess and Mayer's hands are tied.

A lingering question I have is over the hour long meeting that Farah and Potter are reported to have had. Why? What was it about? Was it a 'bury the hatchet' meeting? Why was Ayoub there? Were the two of them discussing whether or not they could work together? Curious.
