Quick Tap rule

Really disappointed in the new tap and go rules and how it has been refereed

Last night's was the worst all season

Parra got a 40/20 , raced up and the Sharks may have had 4-5 players in the line and they took the quick tap

They got called back originally because he wasn't standing on the 20 metre line

Ref shows them the spot , they take it on the spot and he called them back again

Why introduce rules if you aren't bloody going to use them ??

Two players were offside when he tapped it the second time

If you are meaning Sharks players , who cares sin bin them if they get involved in the next play and give the opposition a even bigger advantage

Its good to have these type of rules, but if the players break the rules [like smeg's comment] in executing them, I reckon they should be penalised or lose possession.

I'm not liking the 7 tackle restart… It was bought in to stop players kicking dead, but has now nullified some of the best kicking aspects of our game.

It, like the quick tap needs some more work to get right.

Sio & Ma'u were offside at the second tap.

Marginally offside in Ma'u's case and a good couple of metres in Sio's case

Simple solution is soon as the refs are happy they blow their whistles

If the players then make an error they get penalized Simple

There can be severe problems with this quick tap rule

It brings ball boys into the game, they must be on the ball….imagine at LO if we are behind and kick a 40/20 and its on the side the opposition ball boys are on...they can bugger around and not get the ball to us quickly

What if it goes into the crowd? and an opposition fan hurls it the opposite direction of the field, back up to the hot dog stand?

The advantage is lost, its all too hectic, the refs were pretty good last night considering the amount of things they must look out for

Too true Watto ….. Would rather the old way as it stands.

Maybe we could recruit this Welsh 'kid' as a ball boy. ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sd38KUjmOho. ) It's a silly rule as it is difficult to enforce the rule evenly for all teams. With the rule as it stands, just about any 40/20 kick should end up in a try.

As long as our ball boys mysteriously can't find a ball when the opposition gets a 40/20 because they all kicked them into the crowd that's fine

And when they do get it , its covered in a ton a grease as well

When we get a 40/20 the player taking the tap has four balls to choose from that's ok as well

Did not like the rule when I first heard of it, nor the zero tackle BS, and still don't. Get rid of it and bring back some attacking scrum plays.

they were offside because of the first quick tap which imo should have been allowed- half a meter either side of the referee on the 10m line doesnt matter much.

the referee was just too scared to let them do the quick tap coz the sharks had no one in the defensive line.
