Random thoughts post game..

I will need to watch the replay, but I am sure we had them stretched when Benji kicked & if he went through the hands, they score.

And that view is what holds WTs back. No position should be considered BJs. He’s done very little at WTs to justify his position or contract. If the emergence of a talent results him moving on that can only be a good thing for squad succession and the cap. This is money we could potentially use to attract Grant back to the Club. Who would you prefer?

Did you notice that Nofo did not score a try last night, the opposition winger has to be ready to help with BJ as he is very hard to stop one on one. He is certainly not perfect but has a huge impact when he runs or is a decoy.

Yep, they were shot. If not that play then the next.

Nofa was almost playing three in sometimes. Seemed like they wanted to give him as much ball as possible.

I thought Kepaoa did well last night they targeted him all night with kicks and he only had one error in that regard if I’m remembering correctly. Had some terrible passes thrown at him (which he got blamed for for some reason) but he looked fast when he found some open space.

Nofo has started playing 3 in because he's getting a big head methinks.

I'm not a fan. His actions explained away as 'brain explosions' are sucky to the extreme. Ricky had had enough of him.

Yep, they were shot. I think we had an overlap as well. If not that play then the next.

Nah, seems like it was a planned move. It most happened when we were in our own half, our forwards struggle for metres so the more Nofa can run the ball the better, especially with Joey not being there as he takes quite a few runs out of our own end

Yeah Joey and Nofa have to act like forwards alot. When we get proper forwards I think it will help Noffa.. his fitness is excellent however.

I would keep Benji in some capacity within the club. Sure the kick with a couple of minutes to go was a killer, but it was Benji who got us back into the game.

Benji can hand out flyers on game day

He would throw them into row K

There were two passes a more experienced winger would have caught. The pass for his try had already been thrown earlier in the match, we all saw it, and AJ was 10 metres behind the play, having a bit of a rest. But he seemed to learn the second time, that's all you can ask, and he hasn't played much footy with Benji before.

Didn't look all that fast to me, the gained on him pretty quickly when he scored, and he almost didn't make it. However you need to give him a full pre-season then season under the new coach to really figure out where he is at. Fundamentally he is quick enough without being fast, and strong enough without being a machine, right at this point.

Definitely planned as Noffa has had some previous success getting the ball early in that position and making yards then providing a quick ptb to get us rolling forward. You're right about our forwards - they are not doing the job in that regard.

At the same time, Benji threw it without looking. He seemed to have good acceleration which is good as he showed he could beat a few guys to the line 20 metres out, interested to see how he can go over longer distance

Right but we needed points and it was a good attacking pass. Sometimes you need to be where the ball is going to be, not hovering around waiting for the halfback to pass it to where you are right now.

brain snap from Benji....We run it (on the 2nd tackle) we have them beat but he puts in a 1%play that costs us.....
But if our team hadn't conceded the 20 odd points previously???? That kick killed our momentum, but he literally played the game of his last few seasons up until that one moment
