as a long suffering Tigers fan for half a century now, I struggle to recall a stretch worse than our current one.

The end of 2007. Farah and Lawry taking turns in the halves. Getting beaten by teams we should have done easy. Losing the last game, that would have qualified us for the semis, to the bottom-of-the-table Knights.

2013 after the Potter/Farah thing hit the fan. Just keep losing and losing, and half the posters here half hated each other.

I was reminded in the short video earlier on this thread of the decision to penalise our forward for not clearing the ruck on that Damian Cook knock on. That was a terrible call and would never be called for us. Where was he supposed to go? I hate those sort of penalties.

Would like constructive feedback to this post if possible.
I'm not a garner fan however with our current issues do we think he could play centre. Shock I know but here me out. The dude has pace is a good hole runner and his defence has been greatly improved over these last few rounds. He can't defend worse then we have.
With bj and aj out we really don't have a centre unless mbye is going there

Was thinking the same thing myself. Could do a lot worse.

Another dud ref’s call. Hasn’t been a penalty since 2018

Tamou needs to be punted ..monumental arm grab that led to Gagai scoring .

Brooks still a headless chook on there line ...4 repeat sets and nothing

Roberts is a myth

Cody Walker needs a smack in the mouth

And finally are we really that I’ll disciplined that we’re on a 7 to 2 repeat set flogging ..I don’t think so .

?

Six again against Wests Tigers Sutton strikes again.I would like to know our win loss ratio with this guy officiating.

W15 L21

Penalties 104-122
Statistically only Roosters do worse under him

We've only won one of the last 11 with him. That's worrying.

Par for the course really, as apart from the close win over the Knights, WT only other win in the last dozen games and more during which we have conceded a ridiculous number of points, was by a conversion against Manly.

For the previous half dozen matches prior to that, our only win was through a Brooks field goal against the dogs to come back and win by a point.

Sure, the boys put up a fight in the last three halves of footy, but even as a long suffering Tigers fan for half a century now, I struggle to recall a stretch worse than our current one.

This has to be our worst run ever
@Geo Middleton

It was extremely disheartening looking at the ladder to see that apart from beating the Dragons who were shocking last year in the first round, we have only beaten (and lost to some as well) teams currently tenth spot (Newcastle) and below since.

Maguire may well turn out to be the messiah and take us along to glory, but two and a good bit years in and he's looking more like the naughty boy.

:joy: :joy: :joy:

Tigers are looking a lot better. Doueihi taking more control is pleasing and when he does we look dangerous. Moving Garner to the bench has played dividends, and has been one of Tigers' better players the last 2 weeks. Not sure where Blore will fit in, it’s the props that seem to be underperforming not the second rowers.

I think Ofa , should be the lock , he’s way more dynamic , hence why he’s in the edge .

For me I’d have a middle of Tamou , Twal , and Ofa . An edge of Luci and Blore , and a bench of Mbye , Stefano , garner , and Mika/Musgrove/ Amone .

And I honestly think that’s how it will play out when Blore returns , as he can take the punishment and whack blokes early in games , and if he tires , Garner can come on , with mbye , creating a more dynamism m at tired forwards .

Watching the highlights of the game Offa was directly responsible for three tries that were scored due to being a little lazy around the ruck.Anyone know how.Tom Amone went in reserves

Tom Amone had a strong game but doesn’t look fit enough for first grade just yet - a few weeks off but he is a real beast. Roger Smith was a real standout.

We were leading and should have won.

Nofoaluma, a player of his experience, having the ball stripped. Huge moment.

Talau and Doueihi allowing Latrine out of the in-goal , Huge moment

To be fair Talau is a whisker from slapping that ball back for a try.

Does that whisker happen to be from King Kong? He was nowhere near making any sort of positive contact to the football, though I understand his intent, it's the 1% play.

I disagree. He is only going to play 25 minutes in firsts.

But Offa will not be dropped.

I have mentioned previously that 2021 is not our year but 2022/2023 are the years we should bear fruit as long as Maguire bloods some players like Simpkins/Simpkin/Amone/AJ/Madden/Cini with a view to next year.
Hastings and Naden fill weak spots in roster.
Packer/BJ/Mbye/Brooks free up funds for required positions.
Laurie/Talou/AD/Garner/Blore
Stefano will all be better after a full season and then pre season together

With all due respect but there was always a strong possibility of being where we are.

We just witnessed our best team performance of the year in which the boys left everything on the field - are probably feeling gutted and hurting, so for me I don't think they deserve any ridicule for it(failing to secure the win).
I feel similar to others and admit I'm anxious about how they turn up this week. But more than that I just want to throw all my support behind the team so am hopeful for a strong turn up.

Just hope they didn’t leave it on the field, we need it for the rest of the season 😂😂😂

Have you looked at the footage post game? The ball is bouncing and not in Mitchell's possession when Talau arrives. It's a split second thing. The ball was bouncing for a while. I think 1% is a harsh assessment.

Watched the replay of the NSW cup - thoughts are:
Amone runs hard and has potential but not fit enough and needs to improve his D. Needs more games in reggies.
Cini looks good at this level but too many errors and not ready for NRL yet.
Madden is not yet near Brooks in any aspect of the game.
Seyfarth needs to put on some kgs - he is willing but gets manhandled at this level
Ogden looks more promising than Hoffman as a centre.
Fitzgibbon is a year away at least if at all.
Tuilagi could be the best option for an upgrade to NRL squad

When was that? Was that the in air double knock back that feel under Graham?

That was mikale. He was like a meter back from the play the ball. The player must of launched it back with his heal and cook waited for it to hit Mikale before he went to pick it up. I thought he was clear and the ruck was actually in front of him. Have to watch it again though, but agree I doubt a penalty for another side.
Someone also mentioned Sutton screaming out the Rabbitohs player names when they are offside but calling ‘six again’ against us without warning.

Graham knocked that on imo. The ball didn't look controlled - used the ground to support it before he got a grip on it properly. Just another incident in probably the most shambolic game I've ever seen.
