OK phew

Brisbane what will they do with Bird …...**play him at centre**

Maybe light on up front , might move McGuire to front row rotation and Bird to 13

Cowboys I think will try and get 80 from Granville away from home but play TMM at home **Granville won't play 80, probably Hampton at hooker**

WT's Sue /McIllwrick as a 17th player

Roosters I think will switch between Aubusson and Taukieauho , will depend on who is 1st choice goalkicker **Taukeiaho won't play an edge, he'll be prop or lock. Cordner, Aubusson and Matterson will cover the edges.**

Penrith , absolute plethora of back rowers could pick almost anyone , hardest call was Blake or Peachey in centres , if they get more ball to centres maybe Peachey , losing Moylan is a good thing **Blake will be first centre picked. Peachey will be utility**

Saints have a top forward pack , weakness at back in Mann , would Jai Field be an answer ?? **Matt Dufty will be picked at fullback. Mann will probably be utility again, unless he ousts Nene on a wing.**

Parra , what a nightmare this was , I think this is the best set up , light on up front , again might need to move Brown to front row rotation with the amount of quality back rowers **Mannah, Evans, Matagi, Vave, Alvaro...they have enough props and Brown will stay lock.**

Warriors , front row issues in my opinion , but think the back row of Paasi , Harris and Mannering could be close to the best in the NRL , picking their wingers and centres wasn't fun

Souths , could be light on up front and the Farah / Cook situation .... went with Farah because I think with their props they need some experience

Manly look pretty good if Walker is the answer at 6 , centres are a concern and if Walker isn't the answer getting quality ball to their outside men could be a problem **There is no chance Manly move Walker back to 5/8, he was a disaster there. It will be Croker, Wright, Hastings, Cullen or Hodkinson (if they sign him).**

Cronulla really have screwed the pooch in the halves in my opinion , if it works they look pretty good , if not who knows , great forward pack still

Raiders I think Craig Garvey could end up the starting 9 , and the backs look great Spine is the problem , but if it fires again could really surprise

Titans look better than expected on paper , but wouldn't want too many injuries , the cupboard is empty

Dogs , forward pack looks good barring one back rower backline is the worst in the NRL **Mbye is going to play fullback. 1\. Mbye 2\. B Morris 3\. J Morris 4\. W Hopoate 5\. Montoya...not sure it's the worst**

Wondering if Faamuu Brown could be the answer at 7 with Mbye off the bench , really rate him , had some injury issues though

Knights forward pack looks an issue , but it has an evenness about it and their bench is pretty good , short a prop I think **Ese'ese, Lillyman, D Saifiti, J Saifiti, Heighington...not great**

Not sure what will happen in regards to Watson or Lamb at 6 , backs OK

Storm are going to be a powerhouse again with such great depth in the backs , if Croft can back it up for 24 rounds Cows v Storm GF replay

Oh well , time for you to pull it apart ladies and gents

See what I mean about the locks , Wallace at 9 , Klemmer at 10 , what depth

Unless I'm losing the plot , I couldn't see Dufty on the Stains list , but couldn't see him being not contracted /delisted etc either

And I rechecked that on Zerotackle as well and not on their list either …......

And on Bird , I don't think he went to Brisbane to play centre .... still think Brisbane look light on up front and might want to keep Bird happy

Anyway I don't think many of these sides will be Rd 1 sides , I believe these are the teams strongest sides

You did make some good points mate be interesting to see where some things end up and how sides finish after 26 rounds

So if you believe all the palava so far you might want to take a punt on this table 1-16 off Happy ridiculous stats

1 Cowboys
2 Melbourne
3 Broncos
4 Roosters
5 Penrith
6 Saints
7 Parramatta
8 Warriors
9 Souths
10 Manly
11 Cronulla
12 WT's
13 Raiders
14 Titans
15 Dogs
16 Knights.

Pay a bucketload on a $10 punt if it came off

Im sorry happy but i see you chose Cheyse Blair over Curtis Scott at Centre, i think you might have accidentally missed him. Therefore instead of being a centre pairing of 10/16 they could be a 2 or 3\. But thanks for all your hard work it is great to have someone like you on this forum. I was looking at some other teams forums the other day and they are all dead. But us NO WAY talking about serious stuff on the daily.

Good On ya mate

Good On ya mate

Tough call mate , didn't miss him , just thought Bellamy would reward the boys for winning a premiership , not sure if you get the right to a jersey after winning a GF but Bellamy is pretty loyal

Scott is a real good player , totally agree and throw Jahrome Hughes in there as well

The back up hooker is also real good , from the Cowboys NYC side from 2 years ago

Thanks for the feedback , good to be talking footy , only 43 days left til the season starts proper for the WT's :sign:

Happy,
Is it possible to do it again when the round 1 teams are named and change the scoring to be based on the final standing / ranking of the players from last season?

I think we all have to be very patient with Happy. You gotta admit his sense of humour with his username is pretty good.

I actually think he did good this time apart from not marking as no 1 in a lot of positions. I think we are no 1 in wingers, centres, halves, fullback and every forward role. I think we get the lowest score possible (which is really the highest) of 14.

I agree..

The user name has nothing to do with my demeanour

Gladstone is known by locals as HappyRock

I couldn't be bothered typing the Rock bit

Actually that brings me to a question I have wanted to ask for many a year

Why was my Skando 4 PM refused as my initial choice as a user name , no one else has it Geo /mods ??

Not sure how you can rate players in certain positions. It would depend on the type of player you want. e.g fullback. Slater & Boyd 1 &2\. One is a runner and the other a ball player.

I would rate Hopoate & Gordon as average, yet would have Dylan Edwards a lot further up the list

Thanks very much for this Happy. Very interesting and dare I say pragmatic analysis of where we stand compared to the competition. We can all debate the individual rankings but it seems to me that you’ve got the big picture about right. Certainly a very good starting point for discussion.

Obviously is based on 2017 to a degree , but like a great rock song we could head up the charts with a bullet , especially if the younger players step up and Cleary can get the best out of the squad every week
