Rankin or JAC moving forward

I have a different solution to our problem.

Noffo pairs with Simona on one side and Kevin and Cjee-Kam the other side.

In attack Noffo plays centre and Chee-Kam winger and in defence they swap so Chee-Kam is centre and Kevin to the wing.

Chee-Kam would provide us with an extra forward to take the tough hit ups from our end of the field plus he seems fast for his size. Make him into another TT.

Moses and Simona need to practice goal kicking and JAC and Rankin back to State Cup as back up players.

I wouldn't do anything like that everett. Let's make changes as required. Naiqama and Nofo have developed a good combination and who knows what swapping sides will do. Naiqama at wing also seemed to get caught out a lot more with the high ball as well.

I say play JAC.

how bouts we stick solid with the team thats won 3/4??

who cares if JAC is leaving, we're not developing him we're USING him just like every other player (unless you think every player on the team will be here in 5 years time).

he's the best winger we have to offer right now, if he goes poorly then promote Rankin. pretty simple

We need our best goal kicker kicking

If that's Moses so be it

If it is Rankin we need to find a spot for him

Simple as that , most games are pretty tight affairs and we score many tries out wide as well , last thing we need to be doing is losing games because our 2nd /3rd ranked kicker gets 1/4 and we get beaten by 2

If we are a Top 8 contender , we will need to win the games we should have won

Without doubt, we will not beat the better sides kicking below about 65%. i suppose the jury is out on both Rankin and Moses who is the better kicker. From what I have seen I would say Rankin, but Moses is probably our long term kicker so maybe you stick with him.

I think I mentioned this at the time , but Vossy had interviewed JT and brought up the goal kicking

JT said that Rankin just has to trust in his hook , I can remember Thurston saying something early on about his goal kicking and not being confident in relying on his natural hook

Not comparing Rankin to Thurston , but if there is any bloke who is likely to know , Jason Taylor is that bloke , he was a great goal kicker

Anyone suggesting switching Simona or Naiqama to the wing in defence obviously haven't watched them to closely under the high ball…both make Nofoaloma look like Izzy...

I would keep Addo-Carr there for his break-out game against the Storm but something tells me we will see Rankin back in the team for our trip south Sunday week...

I would say Rankin is odds on to get his wing spot back. I think all the coaching panel needed was a excuse to drop JAC and based on a below average game last start and the fact he will not be with us in 2017 was all they needed. I would stick with, he is a match winner and we need to win matches

Although there are a few interesting suggestions around MCK, I am inclined to stick with JAC instead of Rankin, at least for now. As a fan, he gives me some sort of spark of hope that something might happen when he gets the ball and his flair hasn't been in the WT's game since Benji was a boy (apart of course from Teddy). So, the question is - do we go with stayed, slow and boring OR fast, exciting and bungling??

The thought of Kevvy on the wing scares me - I can imagine him racing up and in off his opposing winger all day leaving huge gaps, and he isn't great under the high ball. As much as Kev has been poor in D, for the most part he has been great in attack and initiated a lot of breaks for us from centre.

Rankin's kicking is not much better than Moses' - it's about time JT did some coaching here. He was a great goal kicker - why can't he help them? If not, let's get Halligan or El Masri to help.

I haven't seen much of Hunt in ISC but from what I have seen he looks like he'd give it a go on the wing - maybe he's worth a shot if JAC faiIs.

Really I can't see JT tinkering with the side too much. However I wouldn't be surprised if Rankin is back in the team next week.

Id go Rankin.

JAC has talent, but as it stands he is far from the complete package. He wont be here next year, no advantage for us to ride out the mistakes that inexperienced players make.

I think Rankin, although clearly no world beater, is a competent winger, a competent goal kicker and adds in game versatility.

He is calm and plays smart, overall I think it is a better both long and short term.

Great win by the team last night….I thought I would give Jordan a bit of a wrap,he is a player playing out of his favoured position and did a lot of good work during the game...his knowledge and experience is invaluable during games....I honestly think he does his very best each time he gets in the fg team, although like many he doesn't shine like some in the team,he does give it his best....

I think the performance of Nofo and even Mansour last night means I'd go with JAC. A good winger can make a big difference to the game. It's not a position that has no impact on the game.

Rankin though is a good player.

I suppose I just want to see us have a good season this season and I think our chances are better with JAC in first grade rather than Rankin.

Rankin was very good vs Penrith.

He is a crafty player and will be useful as a utility for this club. I personally like him and can understand the disappointment with letting jac go (he is all blue sky)…..but we can pick wingers up later.

Watch JAC under Belamy next year and watch him get to the ground quickly running the ball out from his line and be a major weapon in kick chases. Here well …..........
