Don't know what else to say about Rankin other than what's already been said. Not a first grader… Shouldn't be in the starting 17.... Speed of a snail...
I cannot understand why JT plays him.

Hunt has already played without any special dispensation, so he should be fine.

He's the very opposite of Moltzen. Rankin has plenty of ticker but lacks speed and skill, whereas Moltz….

i'f i was him and looking for another contract i'd really be digging in, not making as many errors as he is starting to.

Never saw the fuss in him, took half a season to warm up to him being average at best but with each poor performance he is starting to frustrate me

whilst i like his ability in the one game i watched i wasnt sold.

I like Rankin, I really do, but JT has done him no favours by playing on the wing for practically the entire season. I really don't know what the coach expects from him out there! As far as I know, he has never played on the wing in his short career. I would love to see what he could do playing in his right position.

Justin Hunt is a proven NRL winger who can also kick goals - he would've been a far better option to groom into first grade this season, but no, even with three quarters of the season gone, JT has persisted with the Rankin on the wing experiment even though it has been an obvious failure - I just don't get it.

I feel you. Rankin is a hearty player. I really like him. But he shouldn't have been there in the first place. He's not a winger.

You can add Edwards to that list. I don't understand why MCK is resigned (so he must be part of their future plans), but doesn't get an opportunity even though he seems up to the level(although I admit I don't see a lot of 1st grade).

Lovett has been very good for most of this year, yesterday was not his best game and yes Rankin is not a winger but would make a handy no14 if you were to break from a 4 forward bench.

Agree,he is a good player out of position,I honestly think JT has him there for the exact reason he was used yesterday…as a utility in case of injuries..he isn't as bad as some make out he is..we have had far worse that were paid big money...

I don't mind Rankin but he was very poor yesterday. Hope he reverses that trend next week.
