Ray Cashmere - another prop option

If we are looking for an experienced prop how about Ray Cashmere?

Currently playing for Illawarra in State Cup

32 years old
112 kgs
140 NRL games

Previously been at Wests Tigers.

Would not costs much money

He is the same age as Willie Mason without the baggage (I am not putting him in the same class as Mason who has played for Australia, won a Grand Final and Clive Churchill Medal)

George Rose is another name thrown around but to me he alwasy looks out of shape and a lazy player.

A 32 year-old journeyman? He was only average in his prime… That's a big no thanks.

Average in his prime??. Ray was a hero and our team could do with more of him and the likes of Jobbo

I doubt I would have known Benji existed if he didn't play for the tigers.

The guy actually did ok when he played first grade. He was also part of the 2005 grand final squad.

I watched him play against BRET and the answer would be no thank you personally.

In his prime he was an honest, hard working prop. Age has limited his effectiveness for mine

Dear Smeghead - thank you for your honest assessment.

I was considering options given not alot of fans want Mason on board.

I personally don't like Mason but believe we need his experience and impact and would sign him up on match payments only with very strict conditions.

Think you might have heard of Marshall seeing he's considered a superstar!
As for Ray Cashmere being a hero?
Bit of an overstatement unless , of course , you are related to him.
PS Who is Jobbo?
Never heard the nickname.

If he was a few years younger I would say yes. Not now.

Anyway Ray was never in the Sheens "in" group, which is why he left the club in the first place.

Ok being the operative word. Hence my use of the word average meaning middling, okay, reasonable but not great or poor, etc etc

Yep he played in 2005\. So did Matt Rieck… Don't think we should sign him either...

I'll ignore the Benji line. That's either a shot at humour or straight out :crazy

The personal attacks are not warranted thank you. And here's a scoop for you, I did actually know of the great man as he was a friend of a friend from his time at Ambarvale High School

Well played sir. The original and best man hugger

Ray's leg speed was ordinary in 2005\. I'd hate to think how slow he is at 32 years of age.
