Ray Cashmere - another prop option

May he continue to make my comments doubting his signing foolish and may it become moreso every time he runs out for us

You mean on his signing? Well I said I was wrong. Okay if that's funny enjoy.
I'm sure you never express an opinion that turns out to be wrong…

This is reminiscent of Parramatta's recruit policy last year, instead of embracing youth, bringing back bloke's in their 30's who were past their best some time ago.

I'd be spewing if I were BMM/Moors/Groat, and probably consider whether I was getting the respect and loyalty I deserved. All relatively young, 2 barely out of their teens, all showing promise at some stage throughout their so-far brief FG careers, stabbed in the back by the recruitment department by investing in a 32 year old Journeyman.

But didn't BMM and Moors play? And Groat was medically unfit? Ray Cashmere was signed as cover if we lost another prop. We lost another prop so he played. I think the criticism is

Yeah, BMM and Moors have been around first grade the last few weeks, only due to injuries to starters, Galloway, Ellis, Heighington etc. Had we been at full strength neither would've been cited, and would've continued to be wasted in state cup. I also forgot to mention how badly Moors was snubbed in 2010 when he started the season off the bench, providing impact every time he came on, as was agreed by every forum member, one week later, he was mysteriously dropped and went uncited for the remainder of 2010 and was barely seen last year either. There was even a stage throughout 2010 when we were considering recycling Skando for a second time in as many years, and Mark Flanagan was even deemed better than Moors??? When I mentioned respect and loyalty, I forgot to mention this incident, which would've surely left Moors spewing.

The Cashman wasn't signed as cover for injuries, he was signed with the very intention of being used in FG and got his chance last Sunday and did really well, I was glad he left egg on my face, he proved he's far better than a journeyman. When everyone's back, Ray will still be there, and with performances like that deservedly so.

I seem to remember you posting something to similar effect about Cashmere earlier in this thread, so I don't know why you're crucifying me for questioning the signing.

Thought he had a strong game today against parra, there was one run up he took it was straight and at full pace he is far from slow….

Ps. is he only player in the nrl that tucks his shirt into this shorts..l love it

I am like his style and enjoying watching him on the field.

There's some drum going around that the Tigers may offer him a 1 year deal for next season.

Good on you Smeg !!!
Isn't it great having egg on the face …. I reckon it is .... When you reckon something is wrong and you sit back watching it all go right .... Haha .... I don't mind a bit !!

I'm one that owes big Ray an apology.

I thought he'd be too old and slow, but he has done very well- and good luck to him!

Whilst posters are talking up Ray, I believe they are, at the same time talking up Tim Sheens for his enlistment and selection of Ray. Well done posters.

Whoever at the Tigers made the call to sign him well done Hope we don't sack him ….

It was in the Herald on Sunday I believe. Something about WT being impressed by his fitness. Given his performance/pay ratio it's not a bad idea.

You have got to love an old school no nonsense hard running big tackling prop. Nothing like watching a big tough unit charging into the defence without fear. There aren't too many like that these days!

I think tossing up between him and Willie he was the safer smarter option
Both experienced both offer leadership
But I think ray is more a no nonsense tackle and run player which tigers were missing
Very impressed with his performance and attitude so far

We have enough 'chiefs', and definitely need more 'indians' like him.
