Ray Hadley on ch9 commentary

I don't mind him. He does overcall the game a bit/describes it a lot, but that comes from his years in radio. It's very different calling a game on radio than it is on TV. At least he stays on topic most of the time and doesn't end up in these huge tangents that Gus and Rabs end up on.

I do however hate him on 2GB. The Continuous Call Team has got to be the most painful thing to listen to on radio. Locker-room/boofhead style humour and nonsense - annoys the crap outta me.

As I don't have Fox I can't really comment on their commentators, however when I watch the highlights on NRL.com I can see why people don't like Andy Raymond. He really does - and ALL THE TIME - ask himself questions and then answer them - "HE'S IN OPEN SPACE, WILL HE SCORE? YES HE DOES".

laughed tonight when he asked Hoffman if he was up for Origin this year…and he goes nah pledged alleggiance to NZ...Hadley didn't know what to say.

He probably didn't have to say anything considering he wasn't the one who asked the question, Tim Gilbert was

Found him very biased towrds brisbane last night….didnt mind him the first game I heard but it still reminds me of him calling it on radio, he gets too excited when its a rather bland moment, then goes OTT when it is exciting....nice change from Rabs & Voss tho I guess

Geyer is with fox sports so he won't do ch9
I'd rather Andrew voss than hadley

Vossy suffered the Eddie McGuire syndrome, over exposed, and cut his own throat with Channel 9 exec's.
Hate the fact that Fox employed 9's cast off garbage.
What I hate about Rabs is he insist's on having the window open in commentary box, which completely screws up the audio, as quite often the crowd noise drowns out a lot of commentary which in Gus's case can be a blessing. For mine Sterling is the most knowledgable commentator in the game, hadley is the second caller to Rabs, but there's room for the grand canyon between them.
Ray used to be great years ago, but really has lost the common touch since signing his $20 million contract with 2GB.
Even his wife told him to get out until he dropped the ego.

Hadley is doing an OB for the Continuous Call Team at the Tullibegeal Picnic Races, it's out the back of Woop Woop so he travelled there yesterday, it was always made clear that when Hadley was unavailable that Vossy would fill in.
Yes he must have stepped on some big toes at Nein to be basically sent to Coventry and be fed a few scraps.

I think Hadley is great. He puts himself out there and does a lot of good for a lot of people through his radio program. While he does get a few people offside through the way he goes about getting things done, you can't argue with the ratings which he wins in his timeslots throughout the week and on weekends.
Personally I've never taken to Voss, I used to love boots n all that was great. But the Sunday Roast was a joke. He carried on like an absolute muppet when he was running it.
Give Hadley a few weeks to adjust back to television, I'm sure he'll learn to relax a bit as the season goes on. He does radio just about all day every day and it'd be a hard thing to change your style over night.
I think its a nice breath of fresh air into Friday night footy.

I enjoy his football commentary over gould and rab, voss sterling and the like , but as a radio announcer to me he is just too angry . he needs to lighten up .. but he does do heaps for the underprivelledged.
Who wouldnt win the ratings after following GLORIA who has half of sydney listening to him .Put hadley at 2sm and see how his ratings go .

I dont like the presence he has, nothing personal but he boars me. I actually really liked vossy and would like to see him do the 2nd friday night game. I get the feeling fatty would prefer it too but he would never say so as he values his 9 contract too much, as you should.

Hadlee , is such a dribbler , he talks way to fast and is very difficult to understand . He calls in way too much detail and most of the things he calls are stupidly obvious , he gives no insight into the match .

Bring back Vossy .

I actually kind of like him now. He's gotten better over the weeks
What I'm getting sick of is the broncos on every Friday night with Lockyer on commentary, can't stand either of them

What I can't stand is because there is QLD team playing, the whole commentary team is full of Queenslanders (Vautin, Lewis, and Lockyer on the sideline).

I agree 100% with this post. Hadley is streets ahead in ratings midweek and is what is needed for ch9\. Im sick of listening to Ray Warren and his stupid moronic sidekick Phil Gould.
