Capewell isn’t a panthers junior mate . Came from the sharks I think ?
Yeah went there from Sharks but Broncos junior. He was one of the few on that list that spent time at Panthers, was released from their gun side but wasn't a product of their system. Api another, couple others on that list as well
Edit* kikau and Hosking the others

Oh Jeez, what happened? Stepped out to dinner at half time. It was 26-6 and I thought that was convincing enough. I even wrote a comment here praising the Panthers coaching, discipline and execution. But 50-10?? That's phenomenal against last year's grand finalists. Can someone answer, how much was it the Storm's ineptitude relative to Penrith's excellence? That's 3 losses in a row for Melbourne. You'd have to think the team are not meeting the normal high standards set by the coach. Why?

I know the dolphins were bad but do you think manly were tanking earlier rounds to get seibs axed? Players have so much control over coaches. They looked like a completely different team this round.

Comp 2026 isn't making much sense.

Rabbit's seem to be improving, yet other then Campbell Graham coming back I don't get it.

Penrith, without adding much to their side at all are running riot.

I kinda feel for St George, they hit tough teams at the start, by round 4 they have given up.

It's going to take awhile to work out who are pretenders and who are real.

But apparently the Dolphins were deplorable. Nah, I don't think the Manly players threw games to oust Siebold. They were just sick of his voice and unmotivated. That's enough to lower performance. Quite a turnaround by Manly though.

Not sure if they are imploding yet, however if Panthers put a score on them next week it could just happen. Tracey is yet to accept his extension and seemed to be overplaying his hand on friday like he had a point to prove.
Wouldn't be surprised if he has been offered an amount that is not to his liking. Gus makes a crap offer to pretend they are wanting to retain him when in fact they are still going after a bigger fish. Then it will be up to Tracy to decide if he can do better elsewhere.

Storm threw a fair bit at them sporadically, completed at 94%, had less errors and received more penalties….they would have beaten quite a few teams last night.
Panthers were just that good. They kept the ball alive and their passing was extremely accurate - always out in front of the runner so they could steam onto it. Their second phase play was deadly.
Can’t see them maintaining that level for too long but my god their start to this season has been incredible.

Scary that they’ve already played most of the traditional power clubs.

I think the problem was the Storm's contact in defense.

They have very good players and are at a very high level, but they've been inconsistent defensively for a while now, and they aren't strong tacklers and allowed lots of offloads and space out wide due to Penrith pushing through in contact. That's mainly just Penrith being so good and strong, but Melbourne are also not the imposing defensive side of past years.

I don't think the storm did much wrong in attack, it's just suffocating playing Penrith, their line speed is so good.
