Re: Sharks confirm Ayshford signing

I think Ayshford served us pretty well and if its time to move on, then good luck to him. Unfortunately, this is sport and I'd send him straight back to reggies and have Simona running around as our new centre, and give him a taste of what he can expect if he signs with us.

No point in investing anything in Blake now, unfortunately.

Yep, no point in giving Aysh any more game time now. Our season is shot after our insipid first-half effort against the Sharks so I would be giving 2 or 3 of our blokes from NSW Cup a game in firsts, give them a sniff and see if any of them star and never look back. Better to do it now than wait until next year when hopefully we are in the title race and probably reluctant to change our side around too much if we don't have to.

Yep, agreed. Once Koro comes back we should have Nofo, Simona, Lawrence and Koro as the backline.

If the Tigers do send Ayshford to reggies I'd be pretty peeved off if I was him that the club waited until after the June 30 deadline.

Will Rowdy be next ??

Hope so.
Ouch!

I think he will get better but would not be sad to see him go TBH.

1\. James Tedesco
2\. Marika Koroibete
3\. David Nofoaluama
4\. Tim SImona
5\. Taqele Naiyavaro

Would be what should take the field next year with Rihcards, Hitchcox, Meaney, Mcgrath and Rowe for depth.

Anyone worried ayshford will recapture 2011 form? Just saw a highlights package and kinda worried we haven't even seen the best of him…

Not really. He is a decent player but compared to Simona, Nofo, Koro etc I think it is the best option for him to move on.

I'll remember two tries of his, both in two of the best games I've seen (and we lost both)

Taking Benji's 'no look' pass and crashing over in the corner, when he was playing wing against the Eels in 09 (after TNT and Beau were injured)

And the runaway against the Roosters in the 10 preliminary final. How he held off Carney, then reached over planted the ball and pointed. Yes. What a moment.

Best of luck Blake.

Forgot to wish Blake best of luck at Sharks ,hope your career moves forward , I personally think we made a mistake , but you can't keep em all and Simona looks the goods

Hope you have 22 good games a year and play less than your best v the Tigers

I think Ayshford's started to look good again coming back from his last injury. I wouldn't keep him over Simona as a long term prospect, but when we're talking backline depth, I hope we don't regret taking Pat Richards at the expense of Blayke Ayshford.

Another Shark raid, is it no wonder noone like the Sharks!!!!!!! Maybe thats the go. Save you money on building talent and cherry pick the best from other teams.??

Sharks have exactly 2 club juniors of their own lining up in first grade. Pathetic loser of a club.

Yep, time for the central Queensland Sharks to make an appearance.

Interesting to note that just about everyone I see in Sharks gear now looks like they've just ripped the price tag off it.

Good for us,if we have a player on a juicy contract who is surplus to requirements, just ring the Sharks, they will always do a deal and help us with our cap pains.

Really with all the players they have got from the Panthers and us have made them into a solid side, but I cant see this current Sharks side progressing to far into the final series and I also see them as a side that will struggle to maintain their position on the table over the next few years.
