His Twitter feed seems to infer the exact opposite actually

Keep this up! Pettybourne out, Ayshford out and I hope to see Utai and Lote out at the end of the season. Feel bad for lote though, maybe he can play a couple at the back end of the season as a farewell?

Also wouldn't mind moltz and lawrence to be gone. What happens if moltz asks for a release do we pay his contract out? Cause i dont wanna stay in this rut of paying off players who don't play for us any more…

At this stage of the year, I wouldnt be surprised if the club has applied for an exemption on Lote… If they have, he wont be able to play in any grade?!

Good move, who cares about loyalty? I want to win, firstly he is holding back juniors and secondly he doesn't pass…

Would you care about loyalty if it was Farah?

I agree that this is a good move by the club but I'm sick of the poor recruitment that causes this situation I hope they get it under control because no doubt we are paying a portion of his wages, which is dumb.

Very good piece of business by the club.

Blake seems like a decent bloke and when we are playing well he looks very good. But otherwise he is a borderline first grader.

Pretty sad to see Blake go - he has always been one of my favourites although he does seem to underachieve a fair bit.

How to fit them all in though? Something always has to give…

agree totally. blake has always reminded me of dean collis: always seems to be on the cusp of becoming a really good centre, but in all honesty just hasnt lived up to what i thought was his potential. as a former outside back, i know how annoying it is playing outside a centre who just never seems to pass!

i hope he does well, and doesnt follow collis into obscurity… good luck blake!

No issues with this move at all. Ayshford is a decent enough player on his day, but one thing we have lacked for half of the season is speed, and we're starting to see a bit now with Nofo and Simona holding down a regular gig and our backline looks a lot better for it.

Just need to re-sign Simona and move Moltzen on. I would not be renewing Lote, Utai and Reddy's contracts either. Same goes for Bell.

Ayshford joins Sharks on two-year deal

Centre Blake Ayshford has become the latest Wests Tigers player to move to Cronulla after signing a two-year NRL deal beginning in 2014.

Ayshford was contracted to the Tigers for the 2014 season but was given permission from the joint venture club to test his value on the open market and has found a new home in the Shire.

The outside backs are one of the Sharks `weaker areas and coach Shane Flanagan welcomed the acquisition of the former Junior Kangaroo for the 2014 and 2015 seasons.

"We have brought some quality players to the club over the past few seasons and Blake is another one we are excited about having here at the Sharks,"Flanagan said.

"We look forward to him being a part of our team next year."

Cronulla have rebuilt their premiership hopes on the signing of a number of players from Wests Tigers, while the 2005 premiership winners have slumped to NRL also-rans.

Andrew Fifita, Bryce Gibbs, Beau Ryan, and Chris Heighington have all helped to transform Flanagan's side into a competitive outfit while Mick Potter's Tigers have largely endured a season to forget.

Ayshford, 25, has played 99 games for the Tigers and scored 33 tries.

That's Farah, Farah and Ayshford can not be compared…

I was comparing loyalty you said who cares about it, so obviously you do it just depends on the player, which is fine I wasn't disagreeing about Blake moving on.

I don't really think loyalty exists anymore not the way it used to money has blurred those lines.

I think it's fair to suggest we could still use Ayshford but at the end of the day not only do the books need to be balanced but the squad too needs to be balanced. I would suspect the Sharks are paying a fair portion of Blake's contract and with Pat Richards coming, along with the emergence of Nofoaluma, Koroibete and Simona there was an opportunity to move someone on. That was Blake Ayshford. I'd also expect Moltzen to move on if we can find an interested party - much for the same reason. We have a few options to fill Moltzen's position.

All of it, Blake requested the release, Sharks are footing the entire bill

Told yas…
Probably expected though.
Aysh > Lawrence.
Simona > both though.

Sad to see him go but happy to keep Simona.
Win, Lose.

As gus Gould says, "there is no substitute for pure speed" that's why Simona is so good for us and why Lawrence was great before his injuries. Funny to see the sharks fans trying to convince themselves that Ayshford is quick. :roll

Although Lawrence has been worse this year than Ayshford I am glad that Ayshford i gone before Lawrence. That sharks game showed a glimpse that maybe Lawrence may come good, better than Ayshford. I dunno for sure tho.

Wish Ayshford went to someone else like Parra

Sad to see Aysh gone as he has had some good games for us. But I do think he has reached his potential and cant see him doing any better in the centres. Maybe a career in the backrow beckons. Overall the right decision for us and probably for Blake also.
