Thats cool. But im just picking from what we got. I dont like sue at all. I would like brenton lawrence to bring some experience ln the benchHows the backrow weak? Eisenhuth showed us what hes capable of.

Kenny brommich
felise kafusi
tim glasby
dale finnucine
Jesse brommich

nelson solomona
cameron

Now how in the hell can you compete with that? talented 2nd row with big tough front rowers. No one will beat that forward pack in the grand final.

Dont forget theyve added Nate Myles as well. Awesome pack.

1\. Tuimoala Lolohea
2\. David Nofoaluma
3\. Taane Milne
4\. Moses Suli
5\. Mahe Fonua (Curtis Rona)
6\. Josh Reynolds
7\. Luke Brooks

This backline to me is pretty set. Unfortunately it lacks a bit of pace, but for what it lacks in pace it will make up for in size. Reynolds is a strong defender for a half and will be a valuable addition to what should remain a poor right edge in defence.

8\. Russell Packer
9\. Jacob Liddle
10\. Ben Matulino
11\. Elijah Taylor
12\. Chris McQueen
13\. Matt Eisenhuth

I feel McIlwrick's performances have started to taper off as the year has gone on. His line-speed early on is excellent and defensively he does a very good job, but I don't think we can justify carrying 2 hookers in the squad where one of them doesn't bring a lot of impact off the bench (think a Segeyaro/Granville type). I think Liddle can play 60-65 minutes, with Taylor filling in for short periods where necessary.

The lock position has essentially become a 3rd prop who can play a few more minutes. Merrin, Klemmer, Taumololo, Gallen, Burgess etc are all examples. If Eisenhuth can back up his debut with a few similar performances, I'm convinced he's the perfect solution there. Taylor's size and skillset are much better suited to the edge, specifically the right edge where together he and Reynolds should help it immensely and at least not make it the liability it has been thus far.

I've been a critic of Lawrence for some time, but in all honesty his displays in the second row this year have gone beyond my expectations and he's been passable. I'm not even sure if Chris McQueen is an upgrade over him, despite being a rep player and what not. With that said, we've not signed McQueen to the deal we have for him to sit in reserve grade so he'll be playing on that left edge.

14\. Jesse Sue
15\. Josh Aloiai
16\. Esan Marsters
17\. ????

I'm concerned with how much longer Sue's career will last since he appears to be in the concussion protocol just about every match. I'd actually consider sitting him for the rest of the year and having next year be his make or break year. At his best he's arguably the most damaging ball runner in our lineup and limiting him to 30-35 minutes would get the most out of him. Aloiai can play all over the forward pack which makes him useful as a bench player and Marsters' versatility in being able to play both in the centres and forwards also provides value off the bench.

I definitely think we're another prop and second rower away from having a pack that can at least match it with some of the better ones in the league, but this is probably the best we can do now based on who we've currently got contracted for 2018.

We'll do nothing next year too and I can already hear the excuses.
"We need time to gel"
"We're still developing combinations"
"We'll be better with a complete season and another complete off season under our belts"

We'll be telling ourselves all these things at this time next year, this is the "we'll be better when…......club".

Listened to for years about Benji, and now I'm hearing it all over again with Brooks.

1\. Watson (if rumour is true)
2\. Nofaluma
3\. Suli
4\. Milne
5\. Rona (if rumour is true)

6\. Reynolds
7\. Brooks (on his last chance. Tyson Gamble)

8\. Mautilino
9\. Liddle
10\. Twal
11\. McQueen
12\. Masters
13\. Taylor

14\. Packer
15\. Felise/Sue
16\. Elsenuth/Grant
17\. Aloiai

18\. Chris Lawrence

1\. Watson, Connor (or Lolohea, Tu'imoala if not signed)
2\. Nofoaluma, David
3\. Suli, Moses
4\. Rona, Curtis (or Milne, Taane if not signed)
5\. Fonua, Mahe (or Tupou, Daniel if signed)

6\. Reynolds, Josh
7\. Brooks, Luke

8\. Matulino, Ben
9\. Liddle, Jacob
10\. Packer, Russell
11\. Lawrence, Chris (or new recruit with Chris going to bench for Aloiai)
12\. McQueen, Chris
13\. Taylor, Elijah ©

14\. Sue, Sauaso
15\. Lawrence, Brenton (or other new recruit)
16\. Aloiai, Josh
17\. Matt McIlwrick (or Lolohea, Tu'imoala if not at fullback)

A bit worried about forwards, a little light on, need 1 or 2 more experienced guys like Brenton Lawrence, Jeremy Latimore, Sam McKendry

I would be surprised if we have a 2nd hooker on the bench next year. As for the remainder of the player list, there could be surprise inclusions like Marsters and Twal on the bench too.

Not trying to be smart but with all that negativity - why do you bother?

backs look great, but unless we sign 2-3 more forwards things will never change, once packer and matulino go off we will get run over just like this year.

Good points, would be great to see some of our younger lads get in there with more support around them.

Can anyone see this happening next year

1\. Watson
6\. Tui
7\. Reynolds
9\. Liddle

Yes.

God no, Reynolds & Lolohea would have to be the least organisational combination of all time, you need Brooks, Watson or Gamble in the halves to direct traffic.

So many options in the spine next year. Particularly if we sign Watson and if Kev stays.

1\. Lolohea , Watson, Kev
6\. Reynolds, Lolohea, Watson, Gamble
7\. Brooks, Gamble
9, Liddle,Matt M, Reynolds, Watson.

Plus a
Utility bench spot.
