Realistic team list round 1 2018

Now its looking like our squad is finalised and there will be no surprises, i will go

1\. Lolohea
2\. Noffa
3\. Suli
4\. Milne
5\. Fonua
6\. Reynolds
7\. Brooks
8\. Packer
9\. McIlwrick
10\. Matulino
11\. ET
12\. McQueen
13\. Hooth

14\. Liddle
15\. Twal
16\. Marsters
17\. Lawrence

18\. Sue
19\. Marshall
20\. Aloiai
21\. Grant

Two hookers, one prop on the bench and no Aloiai? That team is a total shocker.

You beat me to it. We have been banging on about our forwards for years. We finally have two big, aggressive starting front rowers and certainly don't want that bench to come on when they need a rest.

Aloiai will be there.

What's wrong with two hookers?

Only one prop? You can bring in Grant for Lawrence. Problem solved.

Two Hookers wastes a perfectly good bench spot. Start Liddle (who is better than MM anyway) and can play 80 mins.

Your 1 to 10 I agree with but i'd have:

11\. Aloiai
12\. McQueen
13\. ET

14\. Marshall
15\. Twal
16\. Eisenhuth
17\. Sue/Grant

Benji can sub anywhere in the spine if need be and Twal, Eisenhuth and Sue/Grant will keep the middle in order when Packer/Matulino go for a spell.

We still don't know who the last 2 seats will go to, so i am sure this will change

I would like to see

1\. Lolohea
2\. Noffo
3\. Suli
4\. Masters/Miline
5\. Fonua/MWZ/Thompson
6\. Reynolds
7\. Brooks/Marshall
8\. Packer
9\. Liddle
10\. Matulino
11\. ET
12\. McQueen
13\. Hooth

14\. Aloiai
15\. Twal
16\. Grant
17\. Lawrence/Sue

18\. Marshall/Brooks

Surprisingly harder then i thought it would be.
It is nice to have some depth.

Brooks is going to need a good start to the year otherwise i can see Benji claiming the 7 quickly.

Milne - Not yet

Hooth Who

And I have a bad feeling that McQueen will be the next Balin

You don't know Matt Eisenhuth ?…pretty much cemented a spot in the back end of the season..

17\. Lawrence

18\. Sue
19\. Marshall
20\. Aloiai
21\. Grant

If Aloiai is not in the 17 we lack that x factor.

Aloiai is our best second rower by a fair margin.

Aloiai to me should be one of the first picked forwards. He is the forward most likely to make a bust or barge over.

I'd be thinking will be something like:

1\. Lolohea
2\. Noffa
3\. Suli
4\. Masters
5\. MWZ
6\. Reynolds
7\. Brooks
8\. Packer
9\. Liddle
10\. Matulino
11\. ET
12\. McQueen
13\. Hooth

14\. Benji
15\. Twal
16\. Aloiai
17\. Lawrence

Did anybody see matt lodge play in the Q/land isp on the weekend .Hes huge and played great .Just our luck he will be playing for the Brisbane Rorters next year Also Tyson Gamble played in the same game looks like he can kick and tackle. That would be a nice change in our halves dont u think

Aloiai should be the first forward picked. Need to work out whether he is better in the middle or on the edge. If middle he adds more than Huth, if edge he is the equal of McQueen

im a fan of aloiai on the bench. he can play edge or in the middle and give us great service.

with mcqueen and lawrence to start, we can be sure of our defense. ET, packer and Eiso can tighten up the middle.

3\. Ta'ane Milne
4\. Moses Suli
5\. Mahe Fonua
6\. Josh Reynolds

8\. Ben Matulino
9\. Jacob Liddle
10\. Russell Packer
11\. Elijah Taylor (Right)
12\. Chris McQueen (Left)
13\. Matt Eisenhuth
–------------------------------
14\. Josh Aloiai
15\. Esan Marsters
16\. Alex Twal
17\. Sauaso Sue

18\. Benji Marshall
19\. Robbie Rochow
20\. Tim Grant
21\. Kevin Naiqama

This team looks really good. The only point I'd make is that I think we will need a cover for Liddle on the bench. Lawrence might also be there over McQueen.

Yeah I like the look of this team too. I'm thinking that maybe ET could move to hooker if needed and we could bring Aloiai in off the bench to replace him - just a thought, rather than carrying another hooker on the bench.

I'd even like to try and fit Benji in somewhere, but I honestly can't see where at the moment, unless Brooks fails or Reynolds goes down in a heap! When the team is all written out in front of us, we can certainly see a lot more quality depth than in previous years that's for sure, especially in the forwards.

I reckon Marsters definitely has to be in the 17 somewhere, too. He will come on in leaps and bounds next season. I guess the pre-season will reveal to us more about who's in and who isn't.

Must have been another BUB that missed all those tackles.

For years I have wanted this club to reach a standard where it's no disgrace to be playing for our State Cup side. Looking at the difficulties everyone (including me) is having naming an NRL side for 2018, I think we are now closer to that situation than ever; our State Cup side will be very hard to beat given the players who are going to miss out on Firsts. Of course the opposite side to that coin is that the First Grade players will really need to perform to keep their spots.

Makes me a very happy old TigerPie.

It's great to have a strong squad question for anyone who knows more then me about the ISP Could you please name a first grade and reserve grade team next to each other it would be great to see thanks

Whichever way I cut it, and despite how much I like the guy, I can't see a spot for Lawrence in my top 17… I have Aloiai, ET, McQueen (pending fitness) all in front of him and no room on the bench once there are two prop replacements, a Marsters/Marshall cover benchie and then I'd go for a versatile forward - probably Sue - who can play various positions in the pack.

But something tells me he'll be there... I just hope he doesn't get asked to play as many minutes because like many, his quality drops away sharply and the diamonds turn into rocks...

Will be interesting for sure!
