Realistic

We have injuries to some pretty big name tigers players.

Not many teams win when they are effected by injuries.

We lost to Melbourne on the back of bs, and by only 1 point to st George who are finding some form(all without some quality players).

We are much better than saints when at full strength and can match it with Melbourne.

We will come good.

definitely hope and think so too! we've hit rock bottom for the season i think, and to be honest and it's a lot better than rock bottom last season and a lot better than a good day for some teams this season

Last week IMO proved that we do have what it takes to match it with big teams, but only for 60 minutes. Once we can play for the full 80, we will come good.

Realistically we won't make the 8\. Regular defensive lapses by the same players are hurting us, plus we are not yet an 80 minute side.

Realistically we are not a team that can execute when required. We can, at times, match it with even the best teams, but when we need the professional play, we invariably fail to produce. I'm thinking vs Parra 2009, vs St George 2010, vs Warriors 2011… and the last two weeks, as prime examples.

It's a cultural thing, I can only hope that Potter can slowly turn things around during his tenure. Adding experience like Anasta or Blair doesn't seem to make any difference. Some players talk about the 1% efforts and that is still where we are miles behind the leaders - the Lawrence mis-read, the Ayshford lazy carry, the Moltzen give up, the BMM dropped ball, the Farah hog, the Benji bullet-to-no-one, etc.

Storm showed last week that despite our 60+ mins of positive play, they only had to grind it out before a few mistakes brought us undone. What makes matters worse is that the Storm arguably found it easier going on Sat night, away, against Souths, than they did against us.

Yesterday we didn't deserve to draw level with the Dragqueens, and once we did, we failed to do anything with our final possession. Typical Tigers.

Dont understand, Storm found it easier to beat souths (2nd on the ladder) than us (13th or whatever)….so that makes us a better team, no?

No some teams just match up better against others

Realistically we are going to probably finish somewhere from 11th -13th We are on the bottom edge of the possible Top 8 sides and with all the injuries and new combinations ,new players things are going to be tough

Hopefully many younger players will get the chance to get some experience and find out whether they can cut it in top grade

As I said , I can see at least 4 or 5 NRL players being cut from our main squad at the end of the season if we are being serious about transforming this side

100%
Next year will hopefully give us more insight into the kind of coach Potter will be for us.
This year he has to deal with what he has been given, and not making the 8 is fairly realistic at this stage in time, I will be happy to avoid the spoon, give some youngins a go and hopefully witness Potter give some players the cut.

Bell, Reddy, Tuquiri, Utai and Groat. There's 5 right there without even trying.

Realistically…we didnt play too badly yesterday.

Butter fingers let us down, not bad play.

And we did have out a plethora of first graders.

Put Bunji,Suace,Liam,Bodene amd Koro back in that side.....do u reckon that makes us a one point better team?

Why bell? Don't mind him at lock for the rest of the season and maybe next too, great for injuries like now.

Some perspective up to Round 6

5 players have debuted this year. most due to injuries.

Teddy had only played 40 minutes in 2012.

Sirro only played a handful of games.

Teddy, Sirro and Bodene Thompson back from long term injuries.

New coach with an inherited squad

Long term injuries to Groat, Gravet before a ball is kicked then Korro and Galloway joining the list.

Positives: When the correct pack is choosen we can be competitive. Woods (freak), Farah (legend), Buchanan (surprise package), Bell (solid), Fulton (tackling machine), Blair (improving), Thompson (aggression), Pettybourne (real goer), BMM (damaging), Ava, Sue (much needed experience). Add Gravet and Groat and Galloway and we will look good and give us a foundations to win games. Sirro back
. Moltzen has been good this year but not a full back. Maybe we his pace a winger or centre. Anasta -cool head and goal kicker. Koro pace we are seriously lacking

Negatives: Rowdy (we all love him but sorry not NRL standard anymore), Reddy (solid but no pace for a modern winger), Teddy (not used full time at full back), Marshall (still making silly mistakes and missed tackles).

I like to see going forward Teddy permanent full back, Moltzen to wing, Simona given a chance in the centre, Nofo given a chance until Koro is back on wing, Fulton used of the bench and our young forwards rotated between NRL and State cup for experience and to avoid being burnt out.

2013 a year to rebuild with 2014 in mind. Also need move along underperformers and go hard on the players market for an experienced prop, damaging second rower (Eastwood) and a speedy centre.

how is it realistic not to make the 8?
given the side we had, the performances we have put up when we win, we are very capable of coming good.
it happens every year, we start slow. anyone remember that year, i think it was 05?

and 2011, gonna go chuck a tenner on us to make the 8\. $50 back if we do….not bad! If we pull our heads together, form a good halves combo and play like we did vs storm and win against broncos at cambo we are a good chance cause a tonne of injuries are returning after that! benji, koro, braith and big red down the track will make things so much easier.

We were one win from 6 games last year, this year we are two wins from 6 games, so we are better in that aspect.

I agree. We were making good metres up the middle right throughout the match, but just couldn't finish the plays off due to bad handling. I reckon if even just Benji was back in the side yesterday we would've won comfortably. He usually terrorizes the Dragons defence.
