Referee's Killed Us

Thing about the refs is they forget different rules week to week.

I have no problem with today's results, the refs had little to do with the Titans outplaying us all across the park.

What I cannot accept is the constant oversights - e.g. forward passes, how Taylor got away with that dropped ball play the ball on the no-try. Both sides were horrendous with markers not being square but next to nobody got pinged for it.

There are 4 officials on-field, I don't know how so many things go by them. We finally bought a penalty in the first half with some enormous crowd boos on offside.

The referees did not cost us the game, but made it particularly hard for us to get back into the game. Fulton's missed try didn't help, and fifty-fifty calls went against us. Like somebody said, it was as if the referees went out determined not to let the crowd influence them; a mindset which, ironically, influenced their refereeing.

Can somebody explain to me why Simona was pulled up after the Gold Coast knocked on in our in-goal? I didn't quite catch the decision and was a bit confused.

Titans were allowed to play offside most of the time by the referees. Markers not standing square. Besides this, back to the drawing board, our players tacle were ineffective and we were back to some jersy grabbing again. We seemed to have slow down, too tired and too many injuries. Still not very consistent, the performanence of our players.

The refs could have ruled everything our way and it wouldn't have made much difference. We couldn't get over the stripe and we couldn't close them down in defence, plain and simple.

one of the FG adjudicators reports to me at work,

Rest assured that this will come up through the course of the day. Unfavourably.. (tongue in cheek)

It was a very frustrating game. We just couldn't get the bounce of the ball. We were so close to scoring on a number of occasions. Referees calls were bewildering at times. But then, the Titans played all over us, so we can't really point the finger at others…

A large number of first half 50/50 Referee calls give the recipient team a huge start in confidence. If that same team knows that the referees will tolerate their off-side play that confidence is boosted greatly. This is what happened yesterday.

Played all over us? Beat us all over the park?

What was the score? Did we get smashed by 50 or more?

I thought it was only 3 tries to one and we had one disallowed by the video stars.

We were not that flash, but with a bit of go from the ref's we could have been on the winning end.

And of course we had a fullback that has no idea of positional play ( Birds try, the charge down etc. ) and Anasta who just has no idea. ( Kicks to long, to short, charged down etc.)

Why Brooks is not the kicker in general play is beyond me.

Warren Ryan on the ABC said something along the lines that the Titans got away with blue murder in the rucks and slowed the Tigers momentum down to snails pace.

Still very hard to blame the refs to much for the result yesterday, we were shocking
