Glad you recognise the Yes vote as a good thing Winston.

I mean hey Nathan Cleary is a great footballer. Some are arguing with me that Cleary is better then Johns and an immortal. I don't know if I would go that far.

We all just saw Nathan Cleary school Brisbane in game smarts. It wasn't braun or speed that won the grand final, it was tactics. Yet of all players to call out for "multiple hits to the head"... The guy just won the Grand Final based on game smarts.

2x now, you must really be onboard camp yes. I wonder how Jonathan Thurston is voting?
Who cares?
Vote what you want.
You are treating this like you are supporting a team

Just Australia?
In response to entertainers/sportsmen/etc being Politicians.

Nope, its far far worse internationally. The worst being B grade or even C grade hollywood celebs endorsing someone. "Hey remember me from Magnum PI? no I am not Tom Salek, nor am I the Butler with a british accent, but for 3 episodes I was Tom's Go-to for tidal information... Now trust in me to balance the budget" *sic*

I kinda concur with Churchill on this one, yet there are some really outstanding sportsman turned politicians.

Glenn Lazarus. Honestly I did not expect him to stand up to Clive Palmer. After Jackie told Clive to get bent, The brick with Eyes followed. He listened to the legislation before him and voted reasonably. I may not fully agree with him but he did well.

David Pocock, Highly intelligent individual. Very suited to the Canberrian electorate and a good representative.

Jesse Ventura - American wressler, you may remeber him from the Predator with the Giant Machine gun. The guy was actually a good govenor. He also opposed the Iraq war and played both the Democrats and Republicans off against each other.

Almost forgot Imran Khan, Cricketer from Pakistan who has really pissed off the Pakistani elite. Prime minister for several terms. Pakistani news is BANNED from covering Imran Khan and his campaign, yep real life 1984 stuff.

That said, there are some really bad examples out there too:
Some just ride a major party for namesake. Free backbench seat and 6 figure salary, just mention "statue for XYZ player" every 5 seconds and you will do ok.
Some are just rude and not that bright, i.e. Craig Kelly, Hershell Walker, etc.

One major advantage sportsmen (and actors) have is that they can get publicity without the donations. They also have that "focus". In general though I would prefer we don't see celebrities crossing over into politics, or at least doing something worthy of politics first.

Why would you name yourself after Winston Churchill? The only reasoning my little brain can come up with is Gary Oldmans great performance. Or Churchill saved our planet. Crazy Cat he is too
