Hap I am happy to half agree with you. But guess what - this club hasn't spewed out anything yet regarding Amone. Sure, they may do tomorrow but your comment is wrong in its abuse of the club. The half I agree with is that there was no prior on Amone. Not sighted off Nobby's.

To be fair I’ve read his name on here before. Would’ve been when about 1-2 years ago I think.

Plus majority of people understand he's just a depth signing and nothing more. Don't think I've seen anyone extremely excited about the possibility of signing him lol.

As for signing top players well they're trying. They've got money in the bank but there's no one available right now

I think the real problem is that too many make assumptions. Still nothing official from the club on Amone and let's be serious, the bloke is a state cup signing if he comes.

If Allan F isn’t signed on, I would totally understand given the history of poor decision making and player retention at the tigers. Exactly the kind of player that will get picked up by the storm and be playing origin in a couple of years.

I think we should promote Allan Fitzgibbon, Kiah Cooper & Kelma Tuilagi before round 1 If we do not sign anyone else. I believe that wing, centre & second row Is where we need more depth.

So we have 800k to spend and you want to go for 200k worth of young backup players?

Absolutely no need to sign Fitzgibbon or Cooper to NRL contracts. They can start off in NSW cup and work up from there.

Tuilagi a decent chance of promotion you'd think, which would open a dev spot for one of the aforementioned. Or ERS.

You don’t have to spend it though . You can front load next years contracts ,or even out say someone on 900k , so that next year that person is only 500k or even 300k , on the cap. Especially if there aren’t any players out there worth the price you’re saying .

You realise we've been upgrading from within to fill out our cap for a decade now. It hasn't worked. Of course you don't want to throw money away on somebody who isn't worth it.

But we should aim high and only settle for upgrading someone like Luciano. But there really aren't many options to upgrade currently. Front loading is an absolute last option in the last week before deadline Day

If there’s nothing on the market that warrants that kind of coin , why spend it ? When you can front load existing contracts . And NO we have never done , if we did we wouldn’t have spent 6 out of the last 10 years in salary cap purgatory .
Eg. You pay young talent 150k , for the last 3 positions . Maybe 2-3 years each. You front load the 350k remaining this year,off next years Luke Brooks contract (this ones for Hobbo and Mike and the Luke Brooks haters). Now instead of paying him 700k you’re paying 350k next year . And your options open up if he craps the bed , and validates all the haters opinions. Like paying half his wage to play somewhere else . And if he’s good , you can spread the remaining amount out over the final years , to open more money up for someone elite. It’s better than trying to sign slightly above average players , who don’t move the needle for 550k. Because that’s what we have done the last 10 years . The roosters do stuff like this , in years like this year, where they have 1 truely elite player in Tedesco who they’re paying the 1 mil for , and thier squad is all young players .

providing, of course, we've signed him and he's in the top 30

You are correct that people can foe you if they dont like what you write....Im saying that many times rubbish has been written on here about players,yet the ones doing the writing have no clue about the said player,either personally or professionally...
The negativity is by people not giving Hartign or Madge the opportunity to show why they may have recruited players (such as Amone)..I dont even know if it is official,but if it is there must be good reasons why he was recruited...
