Tamou and Ofahegaue have been signed as starting Props..

Then you could ask is Amone better than what we had in Eisenhuth for less..?

You need squad guys ..it's about improving your entire roster not just at the top end but the lower end as well ..no matter how small in increments..

We still need a FB. We have a few 6s who can fill in but if we’re to go deep into finals we need a specialist.

Most of all first grade needs a reliable goal kicker, preferably a fullback, but the first grade is so desperate it would not matter which position he plays.

Yeah idk about that, Doueihi is out round 1 but him and Brooks are still our 1st choice so they’ll get a bit of time together. I think Laurie might partner Brooks at some point aswell

You could be right. I’d be leaving Brooks on for 40, let him blow some cobwebs out then put him in cotton wool. Jock needs to show more than he did last weekend against a reserve grade side if he wants an NRL debut. DL looked pretty dangerous at 6.

yeah looks good but nothing official from both camps that he has signed... I hope if he did do sign that he will fight and play out of his skin to be in the FG side

I think we should promote Allan Fitzgibbon, Kiah Cooper & Kelma Tuilagi before round 1 If we do not sign anyone else. I believe that wing, centre & second row Is where we need more depth.

So we have 800k to spend and you want to go for 200k worth of young backup players?

Absolutely no need to sign Fitzgibbon or Cooper to NRL contracts. They can start off in NSW cup and work up from there.

Tuilagi a decent chance of promotion you'd think, which would open a dev spot for one of the aforementioned. Or ERS.

I don't get what Souths is doing at all with their recruitment*.
But I suspect Amone was blocked there. Lets face it they seem to have their front row sorted and if someone can't get a run there, but upgrades here, all for it.

The big question is how does Amone fit in the changing game. We keep talking of a faster pace, the guy looks so solid. We need solid but if the speed picks up then he will be useless in defense. Which is why I think Wayne let him go.

We need wrecking balls! Since Cleary took over heck since we lost Taupau we haven't dominated in the forward pack (even then we still got wiped out occasionally, you would have to go back to Heighington, Ellis, Galloway, Payten and Fulton to find a time we were really feared up front).



*yes I still don't understand why Wayne would recruit Mansour and then Marshall. Unless Mansour was 14 off the bench and he went Marshall as a better option. .. I.e. Mansour was a mistake. Why on earth would they field Mansour with the wings they have. Makes no sense. Meh, would rather Amone then Mansour.

I can't see Amone being anything more than solid backup if we get a heap of injuries/suspensions.
As for Heighington et al being feared .... I don't think so. They were reasonably mobile, reasonably skilled and had enormous momentum in the second half of the year. But I don't think that forward pack had any other teams pigs shaking in their boots.

WT are close to announcing but haven't made it official as of yet, however keep an eye out for either this week or early next week the latest. He was spotted with Musgrove at the trial yesterday.
