Remembering Queen Elizabeth II 1926-2022

I'd say it will remain in June and call it the king's birthday holiday instead.
We celebrated the Queens birthday on three different dates in Oz, none of which was the actual birth date.
King Charles birthday is 14 Nov but we're like to have to king's birthday holiday when it suits us...,so your probably right. 🤔

I am indifferent at best towards the Royal Family.
That said, Queen Elizabeth has always been the rock of it. She’s the one that pulled everyone out of their respective dramas over the decades. A work ethic like not many others, 70 years in the job and still working yesterday.
She will be remembered for multiple dozens of generations to come as a stoic and upstanding monarch.
Rest well Elizabeth. A life well lived.

We were in Edinburgh in 2012 where we she Queen Elizabeth and most of the Royal family.
William was inducted into the Royal order of the Garter.
I have never seen so much security in one place ever, there were hundreds of undercover as well as plain clothed police armed snipers on buildings everywhere.

I reckon we should have a holiday on 14th November every year. Celebrate my birthday! 😂🎂🥂

Clouds in the shape of Queen Elizabeth's II's face appear after her death. Pics go viral.

Well, there is one particular post that has grabbed the attention of many. A picture, shared on Facebook, shows a cloud formation which resembles the Queen’s face along with her signature hat.

The photo was taken by a woman named Leanne Bethell just an hour after the Royal Family confirmed Queen Elizabeth II’s demise. Bethell was on her way home in the Telford town of England when she witnessed the heartwarming scene while driving, according to Herald Sun.

The cloud is seen amidst rays of sunlight and bears a resemblance to the Queen’s face. In addition, it appears as if the cloud also features the iconic hat of Queen Elizabeth II, which she used to sport on numerous occasions.

Pretty fascinating. Thought I'd share.

In 1963, Robert Menzies stood before the Queen in parliament and declared that every man, woman and child who caught even a glimpse of her would treasure the memory forever. "I did but see her passing by and yet I love her till I die," he said, quoting 17th century poet Thomas Ford.

A funny and true story about the Queen:

Around 2005, the Queen and her Personal Protection Officer, Dick Griffin, were walking alone one afternoon in the hills near the Scottish royal castle, Balmoral.

Two tourists approached them, and engaged in conversation. Griffin recalls:
"There were two hikers coming towards us, and the Queen would always stop and say hello.
"They were two Americans on a walking holiday.
"It was clear from the moment we stopped that they hadn't recognised the Queen, which was fine.
"The American gentleman was telling the Queen where they came from, where they were going next, and where they'd been in Britain.
"I could see it coming, and sure enough, he said to Her Majesty: 'And where do you live?'
"She replied: 'Well I live in London, but I've got a holiday home just the other side of the hills.'
"He said: 'How long have you been coming up here?'
"She replied: 'I've been coming up here ever since I was a little girl, so over 80 years.'
"You could see the cogs whirring, so he said: 'Well, if you've been coming up here for over 80 years, you must have met the Queen.'
"Quick as a flash, she said: 'I haven't, but Dick here meets her regularly.'

The hiker then asked Griffin what the monarch was like in person.
"Because I was with her a long time, and I knew I could pull her leg, I said: 'Oh, she can be very cantankerous at times, but she's got a lovely sense of humour.'

The next thing I knew, this guy comes round, puts his arm around my shoulder, and before I could see what was happening, he gets his camera, GIVES IT TO THE QUEEN, and says: 'Can you take a picture of the two of us?'
"Then we swapped places, and I TOOK A PICTURE OF THEM WITH THE QUEEN.
"And we never let on, and we waved goodbye.
"Afterwards, Her Majesty said to me: 'I'd love to be a fly on the wall when he shows those photographs to his friends in America, and hopefully someone tells him who I am'."

Rest in Peace Your Majesty
