Reports - Jarryd Hayne Signs With Gold Coast Titans

Hayne is a self promoting BS artist. I have a dream to play NFL. I will come back to Parra. They didn't make an offer. I was put off by the instability.
Titans should be careful, there are new teams in the netball comp next year and he may have also dreamt of following Caitlyn Jenner in appearing on the cover of magazines while playing for the diamonds in the next commonwealth games (also on the Gold Coast)

Something tells me this deal is going to blow up in the faces of everyone involved. Just sounds like a recipe for disaster.

Farah is not being forced out. If he plays the way the coach tells him to he'll be selected, no problems. Oh well!

A thread about Hayne, but someone has to bring Farah into, some people just can't give it a rest.

Absolute BS that he's allowed to play this close to the end of the season and in the finals. Even your local amateur competitions wouldn't let you bring a ringer in for the finals. What a joke of a competition. The NRL makes it up as they go.

Hopefully this move will be as successful as his last 2 sporting ventures… Though not a bad result getting paid $1.2m a season, good luck to him, wouldn't have thought he was worth that much... Give me Tedesco over Hayne any day...

I loved the press conference all Hayne talked about was Parra, did someone forget to tell him that he signed with the Titans.

anyway, well done to the tits. no one deserves it more than them.

I wouldn't go that far- the Titans are far from cleanskins. Maybe they offered to build a free house for him as an added bonus on top of his $1 million+ per season he would be on? The old "Scotty Prince sweetener" type of agreement.

Where has all their cash come from all of a sudden? Hurrell and Peats have both jumped on board this season and they still have a million bucks spare to pay Hayne for the next 2 and a bit seasons…..mmmm. Hello Graham Annersley!

About a month ago Henry told about 5 players to look some where else, they must have known something was happening with Hayne.
Why else would they start clearing the deck.

Hayne signs with the Titans for 2 years takes their money, then goes back t Parra after they get the mess sorted out.
See what happens.

Yeh I agree. CK simply can't resist defending his beloved legend and raising the tragedy of it all at every opportunity. (See page 2) I felt the need to respond, but you're right I probably should have ignored him.

They might aswell sign Sony Bill Williams for the remainder of the Season if the Titans have $100,000 left to spend on there Cap.

You have to question the integrity of the NRL for allowing him to just come in and play the last 5 Rounds.
So technically who's to say that if Titans were playing the Grand Final this week? They wouldn't be breaking any rules if they signed SBW and goes straight into the Grand Final game.

It surprised me to learn hed be allowed to play this year, but I dont see the problem with it as long as its not just for the current year.

As for changing a winning team a week before a GF…big & risky call
Depending on his match fitness which Hayne (or SBW) has none really....you wouldnt do it

I am a Hayne fan and great that he is back playing our great game.

He now gives Titans that missing "x factor".

Titans are so lucky to have Peats, Hayne and Hurrell join them this year.

Titans could be a top 4 contender next year.

Surprised me aswell.

As for my Grand Final point, i agree no Coach would do that anyway, I was just trying to say that no rule would be broken if SBW was to be bought by the Grand Finalist team….obviously he would have to sign for a couple of years anyway but I doubt the NRL would just let any player signed go straight to the GF.

Im not totally sure on the individual details on those players that were told to look elsewhere but a few of those that were mentioned havent signed anywhere else (or it hasnt come out in the media at least) so they havent been offloaded yet.
This deal is a bit fishy IMO, the NRL are basically running the Titans so it wouldnt surprise that they have secretly dipped into the NRL "warchest" to give the Titans the go-ahead to sign him. He is getting paid $400 000 just for the rest of this season- how a team that has added Hurrell and Peats to their roster this season AFTER they had already budgeted their playing roster at the start of 2016 now has an extra $400 000 to throw around seems a bit fanciful.
It's a shame WT don't have a spare $40 under our salary cap to spend on players let alone $400 000.
The NRL are hardly renowned for being an organization full of integrity and honesty and it is very much a vested interest for them to have a thriving, successful team on the Gold Coast so some underhanded dealings to allow Hayne to fit in under the Titans salary cap isn't unfathomable.

What a dog. Sick of hearing about him.

Well said.
Was hoping he would go well at NFL but everything about him since then has been a boring, look-at-me exercise in self promotion and pumping up his own overbloated ego. A poor man's Scummy Bill Williams.
Hope he is a flop at Gold Coast. Wonder what "dream" he will have then, maybe get his rack done and trot out as a meter-maid.

I dunno…. He's prepared to have a go at a variety of different things all under the gaze of millions.
Good on him... Not scared to fail

Good luck to Hayne and the titans hope it's a successful journey or dream or whatever he wants to call it now. If anyone thought robbie had an ego it pales in comparison to this guys. Everyone heard the stories of how lazy he was and not putting in at training etc but this guy wasn't the saint off the field for parra as everyone makes out.

Heard he would snub sponsor meet and greets so he could hang with his mates, if they were tpa sources who knows but it shows what a petulant child he is. Club officials would be begging him to just come have a chat for 5-10mins and he would say nah stuff it.

No one's doubting his ability and what he's done on the field but i hope Henry keeps this guy in check on and off the field. He had too much free reign at the eels and a fresh start at another club is probably best for both parties.
