Why are we all of a sudden being overloaded with stuff the majority dont care about.

Its the Wests Tigers forum last time I checked

First grade and under 20s is all I care about.

@spartan - so you dont care about balmain nsw cup who are the feeder side to wt and where fringe wt first grade players over 20yo play?

Well Spartan this info is posted on the Wests and Balmain (reserve grade) sub-forum which one can ignore.
I for one don't support the Magpies but think that a NSW Cup game at Oval is great for rugby league.

Thats why this is in the Wests and Balmain section. Maybe you should double check on which sub-forums you click on in future then aye?

Last time i checked this was the Wests and Balmain section. If you don't care about it, the simple answer would be not to click on this part of the forum

Any chance of the Tigers playing a FG trial there anytime in the future? Souths and the Dogs have played trials at Redfern and Belmore. Surely the ground couldn't be in any worse playing condition then some of the grounds they use in the Country for trials

I have to agree with this. There's nothing wrong with the Maggies paying their respects to their traditional homeland by playing at Lidcombe. Great move.

Sounds like it will be a great day. Anything being planned? Parade of old players or something like that?

I don't see the point of Wests Tiger playing a trial at Lidcombe Oval. Trials are actually a source of revenue so Wests Tigers should continue to play trials (against NRL teams) at the major venues. Lidcombe's playing surface should be acceptable, but the facilities at Belmore and Redfern are a long way in front of Lidcombe Oval.

I am really surprised the ground is still in existence. I know they play soccer on the ground and Auburn rugby league is playing there this season, but that land must be worth a bit…..

I actually like the idea of all trial matches being played in the bush our outer lying regional places

Yeah agree. In some ways we're victims of our own success in that our trials normally get good crowds. Personally I'd like to see every club take at least one NRL game to a regional location but that's for another thread!

A wt game at lidcombe would be an awesome heritage match. Prob will be only be a trial. There is a proposal at nrl level to End city country and have one home game for each club in the country per year. Once again, that will be a IC decision

It would be great and we need to have the boys running onto the field with Survivor playing Eye of the Tiger live!

I've never seen Lidcombe Oval. What are the facilities like there these days and what sort of crowd would it hold?

Are you serious or joking? Eye of the Tiger for Magpies v Manly? More like a hearty rendition of "We're the boys from Western Suburbs" led by Tommy Raudonikus and Trevor Cogger…

Facilities are poor. But the history is rich. The tiny grandstand was dilapidated. But it looks like the council have done it up.

No dramas Bug. Hopefully the field itself is in decent nick for the players.
