Geez - I hope Meaney isn't reading this. He just got compared to Tim Moltzen but slower and with less of a sidestep!
If that's true we should sign my 12 yr old daughter - she's got more pluck than Moltzen ever had. On my list of the top ten "Biggest joke of a footballer to ever pull on a Tigers jersey" - I have Bwaith Anasta in positions 1 through to 9 and Moltzen as 10!

Do you realise that Moltz played with a metal plate in his head?

Hmm, I hope JRey does head back to the Dogs. It will be another good chess move from Madge and free up more coin for where it's needed.

Not to mention his ACL injuries ..that finally took it's toll and virtually crippled the bloke..supporters might not have liked him but to question his courage and pluck is laughable..

On Reynolds saw a snippet on the news he has the blessing of the players to return to the Dogs...

Josh Reynolds has a fight on his hands to retain a Wests Tigers bench spot, while any hopes of a third attempt to return home to Canterbury also appear to be quickly fading.
Harry Grant has impressed everyone at the Tigers since arriving from Melbourne, with Cameron Smith's former dummy-half under-study a huge chance to wear the No.9 jersey in the joint venture's next game.

Wests Tigers players return to base

The Wests Tigers have returned to the club as the NRL powers towards a May 28 return date. #NRL
Should that happen, Grant's good friend Billy Walters - not Reynolds - will likely get the nod to fill the utility role on the bench.
Reynolds, impossible to miss on Monday with his bleached locks, reached out to the Bulldogs a few weeks ago about a return, which prompted the club to then make some inquiries to the Tigers about an immediate release.

While Canterbury coach Dean Pay left the door ajar for Reynolds late last week, the Herald has been told by sources close to both western Sydney clubs the move simply will not happen unless the playmaker is prepared to accept minimum wage.
Reynolds will earn north of $750,000 the next two seasons, and while Canterbury acknowledge they need experience in their pack, Reynolds' price tag is just too high and he would only be seen as a short-term fix.

With no reserve grade in which to impress coach Michael Maguire, the only way for Reynolds to push his case for a recall is to blitz it on the training paddock.
Technically Reynolds cannot be approached by a rival club with more than 12 months remaining on his deal, but the Tigers were happy to listen to any proposals put forward by the Dogs. There has been no contact in a fortnight, and that is not expected to change.

The Tigers are mindful of not letting the negotiations become a distraction for Reynolds, especially after it became an emotional burden last year when talk of a Belmore return again surfaced.
Canterbury have 27 players on their roster and are awaiting confirmation from the NRL if even have to sign replacements for sacked duo Corey Harawira-Naera and Jayden Okunbor.

Co-captain Moses Mbye, who played with Reynolds at the Bulldogs, said of his friend: "I personally haven't spoken to him about it, I think he's had a tough couple of years and he hasn't had much reward for the hard work he's put in, so whatever happens with 'Grub', be it here or elsewhere, it would be good to see him playing first-grade footy and back where he belongs. Whatever is best for him I'm certainly supportive.''
Mbye said Grant was unproven in the NRL and there had been plenty of handy NSW and Queensland Cup players ''who haven't cut the mustard at NRL level''.

"But we have really big expectations of Harry, and what he has shown in his first week of training has been exceptional,'' Mbye said of his fellow Queenslander.
"It's a good headache to have for the head coach. We've got depth, which is something we haven't had the past couple of seasons.''

My garden gnomes name is Moltz .....did a good job guarding the garden

Best part of the article is reading about how good Harry Grant is going, im bloody excited to watch him play for us.

Tough ask for Reynolds to either give up a massive pay check or probably not play first grade. I would stay at tigers if I was him.

How would it work anyway? They would have to cancel his current contract and he would sign a new one with bulldogs? He would be silly to agree to that I think

His contract won't be reduced ....if he is on 750 k , the dogs might agree to pay 400 k and we would have to wear 350 k

Well that's not guaranteed yet ....

We still have the ball boys to go on strike , scoreboard attendants , cheer leaders , hot dog venders , pie vendors

x2

I also like Walters taking the bench spot to give Harry a breather or cover an injury in the backs. He was pretty solid in the first couple of games.

There is an argument that weve been dudded royally for 2 and a bit seasons now,at totally our own volition(well..Ivans),but..... we may just need JR at 6 in the next season and a half as we simply don't have many alternatives as an NRL half/five eight
Benjis our best attacking spark, but his defence has been an enormous liability in both games this year. There wont be a 2021 for him unless this picks up.And going on 35,hes gonna have injury issues Im sure
Walters has been discarded by the best 2 coaches in the game, and at 27 unlikely to be a revelation at 6..earnest kid but too slow tbh...his dad wasn't much quicker, but the game has moved on
Douhi is a candidate at 6 but is desperately needed at fullback, because we simply don't have any one else which we learnt yet again against Knights .CT shld never play at 1 again except in an emergency
So if any injury hiccups in the halves,JR is the ONLY go to,particularly ... as theres no CC to assess the young blokes coming thru
I personally detest this thought, but being pragmatic as Dogs will want us pick up most of the tab if he does move

For mine Walters has shown in limited time that he offers at least as much as Reynolds does (I think more) for a 5th of the price, many other options as others have said.

There is no place in the squad for Reynolds, particularly with Grant here.

Surely there's a super league team that could use JRs skill set and he would probably kill it over there too. I'm sure Madge has probably already put those feelers out tho. Oh well, JR will probably be just another Greg Eastwood.

Or Braith Anasta, Matt Ballin, Nick Graham, Nathan Cayless, Jarrod McCracken, Ryan O'Hara, Sam Harris, Adam Blair......by Christ our club has thrown some money down the toilet over the years (whether by bad luck or bad management). Hope our fortunes turn around soon re: value for money from high-paid recruits. We would surely have the worst strike rate over the last 20 years as far as dud buys go.

No longer registered to the D ogs,but we shld be courting Cory HN(=mobility plus desperately needed forward leadership) for later in the year when ban lifted ,and if JRs spot facilitates CHN then Im prepared to subsidise just a little more of JRs pot of gpld.
Along with retaining Grant and getting Packer either fit and motivated or medically retired(and replaced),that mite go close to finalizing our forward recruits for 2021
We can then focus on a 6(possibly Hastings returning from UK where hes killed it...but so did Austin.?.)and some more speed out wide......Cory/Nofa/Momo/Mybe are all "functional" but aren't gonna spread-eagle the opposition on a consistent basis

Josh Reynolds' management held productive talks with the Tigers on Monday about a move to the Bulldogs.

The decision now rests in the hands of the Bulldogs board and if rubber stamped, could see Reynolds in Bulldogs colours as early as next week (Daily Telegraph)
