Reynolds

I feel for the poor bloke, he was half a foot off charging down the winning FG and spent so much energy charging around trying to lift the tempo.

He's not in form but nobody can complain about how hard he tries.

Even after one set in the first half, he copped a knock and was blowing a bit, but he just pushed himself to get back into the line. Commendable. He's like the anti-Jesse Sue.

Grub was best by far, but I am not confident his body going to last to many weeks. He looked broken half way through the second half. Anyway while he is fit, Benji must play reserve grade because Grub offers more.

Reynolds is not a perfect goalkicker either. Today he missed at least three shots at goal, mostly near front of the posts, to allow Manly a golden point win.

Gee I think his performance is being massively overrated. Outside of his 2 great kicks for tries, he wasnt all that great.

Let's see, there was 34 players took the field last night and only 3 tries were scored; two of which were set up by the same player. And you think he wasn't "all that great". I thought scoring tries was the objective of the game. I must be wrong.

Guess u missed the bit explaining how I was talking about his game outside of those 2plays.

Feel for Reynolds, he left everything on the field and he was instrumental in almost winning the game. Every time the ball went left we looked a half chance of doing something.

He was the best half on the field.

You dont remember the game of Taylor ball vs the cows at Cambo a few years ago?
That was the worst loss of any team in NRL history. That loss was sabotage on the code, this was merely pathetic.

That’s what I really like about Reynolds, he gives everything and doesn’t leave anything in the tank. Did you see him after the field goal, he was on his knees, bent over bashing the ground. Passion, I love it.

I'm not 100% sure, but I think he actually dived a fraction of a second or so early. It looked as though the ball went over him once he'd dived. Maybe Cleary stepped or something. But what an effort.

Had a great view at the game, the half a foot you talk about was all because of the Penrith prop who stood as blocker one metre to the side and half a foot back from the play the ball.

If the blocker wasnt there Reynolds gets Cleary before he can kick.

No I didn't. Your point is not legitimate. It would be like taking out all of a test batsmen's top scores and averaging the rest and then coming to the conclusion that his average otherwise is not great.

No it's nothing like that at all. It's more like saying Steve Waugh's 40 not out was highlighted by 2 beautiful boundaries, while the rest he toughed out and scratched his way through.

Yeah, only watched it the once and others are stating he nearly got there, but I am with you from that single observation in thinking he arrived slightly early.

I don't accept your analogy SF. A couple of beautiful boundaries in the context of a test match doesn't amount to much. On the other hand, Reynolds's two plays, in the context of the match, put the Tigers in a winning position. If one of the six attempts at goal were successful, the Tigers were home.
