We have seen a number of occasions this year where Moses, Kev and Noffa look like they are defending on a different planet to each other. There doesn't seem to be any strategy to what they are going to do and there certainly doesn't appear to be any communication.
The thing that bugs me the most is it doesn't seem to be getting any bettter! Surely the coaching staff is showing them videos of them shooting out of the line like they have been fired out of a canon only to end up 5 meters behind the attack watching them stroll through the hole that they left? At least if they were told to hold the line no matter what the opposition has to come up with the right play to score rather than handing it to them, it shouldn't be that hard to fix. If they are told that and continue to rush up then it's time to give MCK a go.
Maybe they're being told to rush up .
Can't think of a reason to do that , but a lot of reasons not to.
But they keep doing it,
So either he's okay with it, or they go against against what he wants them to do,
Which raises the question, why are they( or at least one of them ) not being dropped.
It's causing us problems in a lot of games
There would be an option in the system to race up and jam without doubt. The issue is that when that happens the other players in the area are not on the same page. it si usually Noffa and Kevvie, but at times Moses clearly breaks pattern (like on the try last week)
All the systems are hard to break down even if they make a wrong decision if everyone does the same thing. Our right side doesnt do the same thing.
Last week it was an obvious ploy to try and put heaps of pressure on Cronk
It worked the first few times and then disintegrated after that

@stevetiger said:How good were Nofo and Naiqama tonight. They were great,
I don't get the hate for Naiqama. I think the haters have no idea.
@barra said:Yep they were both great tonight Steve, and I think everyone rates Kevvie in attack, but they've had a few absolute shockers in defence in recent rounds.
Tonight was a big improvement and if they continue to practice good defensive drills they will both be much better players, especially Kev!

@TYGA said:Very simple we have Moses, Naiqama and Nofo all below standard defenders on the one side of the field.
I would move Naiqama to the right wing, Nofo outside of Simona on the left wing and bring in MCK to play right centre. ET should play on the right to protect Moses and Lawrence on the left to cover Brooks.
Simona and MCK can defend so would help the wingers. Our problems are from the inside and make it look like the wingers bad decisions but they are starting from Naiqama. Moses to his credit has improved but still a light weight.

Kev was better tonight, but he rushed in and let in one try tonight, and was lucky another couple were bombed by penrith.

11 missed tackles between Noffa, Kev and Moses. 16 if you add Alioai, hardly inspiring defensive stats from them.
We still conceded 26 points and against good teams that will hurt.
I don't think anyone has a problem with their attack but the defence is all over the shop.

Here is the thing though. Teams are going to score points. I think we were good all over the park and there were no glaring issues on either side.
The biggest mistake I saw was Wood's play the ball when he just dropped it cold at a critical time.
