Arguably the greatest baseball player who ever lived Hank Aaron passed away today aged 86

At one stage held the record for the most career home runs in American baseball. The problem was he broke Babe Ruth's long-standing record. That was a black man breaking an idolised white man's record. It didn't go down well with Joe Public. As well as being a champion baseball player he was a champion bloke too, apparently.

That was a black man breaking an idolised white man's record. It didn't go down well with Joe Public. As well as being a champion baseball player he was a champion bloke too, apparently.

Yeah he went into his 2nd last season a few home runs shy of the Babes record

His life was threatened ..reporters who reported on the story were threatened as well and called ...... lovers ...two fans ran out when he broke the record and he was fearful they were going to harm him .....

Yep some of the teams did all kinds of dodgy stuff , to try and stop him . He and Willy Mays had to put up with some crap . Even though they played 30 years after Jacky .

It's ironic that Hank Aaron who, from all reports, was a champion bloke was despised by so many white Americans for breaking the Babe's record. Apparently in his non-baseball life the Babe was a total douche bag.
