RoarFEED (iPhone/iPod App) Development Thread

The only issue with the app is for me, is the last thread in each forum section is blocked by the ad at the bottom of the screen.

when on the iphone and in a forum subforum ie foundation cup the botom entry stream the game cannot be opened as it is covered buy an advertisment you can scroll it up to see it but cannot open it

Noted bugs:
- Some 4.0 or great devices not supported
- Last thread hidden
- Low reception troubles
- Wrong password response for some users when logging in

I'm onto this dudes. Thanks

Guys, android is making me rip my hair out.

I don't have any training in this stuff and it's all waaaay beyond me. I'll keep trying to work it out when i get spare time but for the time being RoarFEED for android is shelved.

If anyone knows anyone who knows how write android apps then by all means get them in touch with me as I'd be happy to give them access to the RoarFEED APIs

Version 2.1 has been uploaded to apple for approval
- Tweaks to the forum interface
- Minor bug fixes
- Login issues resolved

I'm still working on:
- 4.0 version problems
- low reception issue

plus a couple of other features in the works

G'Day all. I am having an issue with the "news" section showing no articles. The background shows but there are no articles to click on. Only started doing this the past couple of days.

Hey Kul,

Love the app but…

The app keeps on crashing when I try and move onto new pages in the forum. Most when pressing last> to move to the end of the thread. It is not all threads but the same thread seems to be having the problem.

The problem thread at the moment was the team list in the round two folder.

I have tried deleting the app and reinstalling and this didn't fix the problem.

Keep up the good work.

Yeah the RoarFeed iPhone App is cool but it does crash a lot for me for the above reasons and many times too when trying to go from page to page within a thread

Love the app…

But..

As of last night I found out I was logged out (I keep myself permanently logged on Roar Feed) and couldn't get back on. I keep getting an "incorrect password/username" message.

Tried deleting and reinstalling but to no success. Can you help me please Kul?

I'm going to feel like a bit of an idiot, but after I posted about my dilemma, I am now able to log in.

Thanks if you had a look at it for me Kul.

If you read the support thread you would have seen that simply logging into this website fixes the problem.
This happened because you initially entered your password into RoarFEED incorrectly.

Guys. I traced the crashing bug pretty quickly to a very simple logic error in the code.
Within a couple of minutes an update was sent to Apple and I've asked them to escalate its approval.

The bug only occurs on threads that have had zero responses.
As a stop-gap, any threads that have zero replies DO NOT appear in RoarFEED

sorry, I should have picked this up in testing

Hi Guys,
Every time I try to open the App it's crashes I have tried this both on iPhone 4s and ipad2
Both deleting and power down of both then reinstalling still the same thing.
Only seems to have done this since an update the other day.

Hi Mrtiggs112,

Kul, the brains behind roarfeed explained just before you posted an explanation as to why Roarfeed is crashing.

Hopefully apple will expedite Kul's request and he'll have our problems resolved. Thanks for using Roarfeed.

Mr Tiggs sounds like the App is crashing not the Forum Topic. My old man is having the same issue since he updated to the New Ipad/ IPhone versions. He has a IPad 1 and IPhone 3GS. I have IPhone 4 and after the update my Roar Feed is ok.
