Rob Lui came of age last night

Yes, top game from the young fellow, and he seems to have been earmarked for 1/2 back however, for mine, Moltzen to start in 2011…

he was excellent tonight and yeah now the dilemma…. he would have to start and maybe have Moltzen on the bench?

yes he did .. i thought he was sensational … but moltzen is a walk up starter when fit ......we need a halfback with a kicking game to take the pressure off farah .....

For those of you who have blinkers on, Robert Lui was our first choice Halfback in the Trials, our first choice Halfback in Round 1 & our first choice Halfback all year…

I think it's fair to say we can now put the 'Moltzen is our Halfback' in the same basket as 'we should never of let Scott Prince go'...

So, how did Mlotzen come to play halfback then, was Lui injuried?

I doubt it, we need something to talk about between now and march 2011

lui was first choice for 1 reason …. we didnt have a fullback ....i dont wear blinkers...
mckinnon will be number 1 when fit and moltzen will be number 7... lui has been a liability in defence all year and needs time in the lower grades to work on it ....he also needs to get involved more in the kicking department...
dont let 1 top game blurr your vision watto

I suppose you don't need blinkers when you live in a dark bubble…

He has really improved over the last couple of weeks. He looks like a real skillful half.

I think Moltzen has to be in the team but I have no idea where.

I have said it before Lui is the best young half I have seen in the club since watching since the late 70's (Balmain side).

Lui is a gun who will only get better. When his contract is up in 2 years he will be the most sought after player in the NRL.

Moltzen for mine next year will be either fullback or the bench reserve. He could also play centre but he is not better than either of our 2 starting centres. Still don't know why we signed Wade for next year.

From what I was told this year Lui was the starting halfback from round 1 and that Sheens thinks he is a better halfback than Moltzen. The plan was to give Lui the first 8 games and then send him back to the 20's for a while. Moltzen's injury change the plan but next year if they are both fit I think Sheens will go with Lui at halfback.

I think after how well Lui has played over the past couple of months Lui has now done enough to secure his first grade spot for next year. Yes, at times he has shown weaknesses in defence but most young halves struggle when they are targeted in the first couple of year, Lui will overcome this and become a great player. I dont think it will be to hard to fit Moltzen into the team in a different position.

Lui is improving with every game, he will need to work on his defence as he will be targetted, having said that I like Moltzen at half however if McKinnon continues to be injured next year, Moltzen could move back to fullback. It will be very interesting if all our players are fit next year to see who goes where, probably a nice problem for Shifty.

that's the problem, where to fit him as we need him, especially if there is an injury. I don't like him at fullback…I think some others on here have been calling for him in one of the centre spots, but then where can we fit Lawrence or Ayshford? maybe Moltzen or Ayshford on the bench?

I honestly don't think we can afford to lose either Lui or Moltzen.

best player on the park for us last night IMO he was brilliant attackingly and defensively I have been critical of him but now I know what he is capable of and it excites me he is only going to excel next season.

Top game once his defence gets better and he develops a good kicking game he'll be the complete halfback.
We really need someone who can take control of our kicking it's costing us a lot.

Benji Marshall won us a Premiership in his 2nd year with guidence and steady influence of Scott Prince…

I have a feeling Robert Lui will play a major role in winning us a Premiership in his 2nd year with guidence and steady influence of Benji Marshall?!
