Robbie Farah 2019

My apologies, I misread your post. I was not making a point of just you necessarily giving Robbie a break but a lot of other forum members as well. Even after his great performance last week, some forum members, whose opinions in the past I have respected, could not see fit to rate him in their top 5 or top 7 players on the day. In that instance people must be watching a different game or are very poor judges. Once again my apologies.

I have been very negative, but will give credit where it is due, probably the form hooker of the comp at the moment

Did you think that Robbie might go around again next year, as he didn't exactly put to bed that this will be his last year when asked.

Noticed that, would be hard to not dream about it with how things are going.

If he is playing well, he thinks he is up for it and Liddle has not progressed we would be crazy not to make an offer.

Barry o'farrell joined the Tigers then ironically Robbie Farah continues to get better like a good bottle of wine.

Heard that on the Winning starts on Monday podcast

It doesn't upset me - i think its great - but i wasn't referring to Robbies playing, i was referring to the " I hate JT " brigade who keep moaning about his time here as coach - we know who you are and we know you don't like JT, just stop ramming it down our throats every chance. JT has moved on, the club has moved on, the fans have moved on how about you guys do the same.

You keep bringing that man up in conversation. Take your own advice perhaps?
Im enjoying seeing a player I feel was wronged by the club return and finish his career on a high. People spoke a lot of smack about him pre season. There is certainly a little bit of enjoyment in watching them react currently, ill admit that. Taylor I dont care about.

Nah all good mate, can only give the plaudits when he deserves them. If people aren't willing to do that just because they dislike him well they have a problem.

# Mentally fresh Farah firing for Tigers

Wests Tigers coach Michael Maguire believes Robbie Farah is as mentally sharp as he's been in years and the veteran hooker agrees.

Between them, the pair suspect that's the reason Farah is back playing the kind of football which has earned him man-of-the-match honours through both of Wests' impressive wins to start the season.

"He has been in a really good head space. He understands where he is in life and he is just enjoying his footy," Maguire said.

"He is performing well, he is helping grow our younger guys, he is growing young men.

"When you look at the old crew, it’s enjoyable to be around training.

"They’re laughing, smiling on the field and when you understand where they are in their career now, they want to make sure every opportunity is a winner."

Farah concurred with the coach.

"I’m just enjoying my footy. It’s fun. I’m back at the Tigers and it’s my home," Farah said.

"After a couple of rough years there where there was a whole heap of distractions and it was pretty hard to enjoy your footy… there was a whole heap of other stuff going on.

"Now, it’s just everything footy first."

Farah emerged from round two atop the Dally M standings after two superb performances to start season 2019.

The three-try assist, one-try performance against the Warriors was one for the career highlight reel and while this may be his last season in the NRL, neither the veteran hooker or his coach thought his best days were behind him.

"I felt like I was playing good footy when I came back to the Tigers last year," Farah said.

"When you look at the stuff I was producing I feel like that was a big aspect of why I continued to play (this year).

"Obviously the start of the year was difficult but the couple of the games I had with the Bunnies and then the Tigers, I still felt like I was contributing on the field and that was one of the reasons why I continued to go again this year."

The catalyst for the return to career-best form remains somewhat of a mystery to even Farah himself, though a strong pre-season and linking back up with Maguire certainly didn't hurt.

He began thinking about playing under Maguire again in September last year when they happened to be at the same bucks night.

"I had my brother’s bucks party and he was there," Farah said. "That was towards the end of the year, towards the end of September, and the rumours were out.

"I was trying to get something out of him, whether he was coming or not, but he didn’t give away too much.

"I let it be known that day that I was pretty keen for him to come over and it worked out that way. So far it has worked out good."

Makes a big difference having a respected Premiership winning coach.

Very Happy for Robbie and the club.

You're the one who brought him up not me. I wasn't even talking about Farah. I was talking about those who continually whine about Jason Taylor. And then you threw in you're 2 bobs worth that had nothing to do with my post.

Good to see the JT haters get to have their say …again, and again, and again, and again, and again.

I will never forget what JT did to our club, and I make no apologies for it, over and over again, that is you whinging.

He said after the game he is enjoying it as it is his last year, and when they called him on it last night, he back tracked, lets hope we can play finals and Farah can bow out at seasons end on top.

Nope thats incorrect. Its all you and to be clear, you appear to have a Jason Taylor sized chip on your shoulder.

There now I have brought him up.
