Benji Marshall would love to reunite with friend and premiership-winning teammate Robbie Farah at St George Illawarra and admits the pair have discussed the possibility.Farah continues to be linked to a move from Wests Tigers to the Dragons due to his falling out with Tigers coach Jason Taylor.

The Dragons remain the only avenue left out of Concord for Farah, and Marshall would like to see him in the Red V. "Absolutely I would," Marshall said. "He is a class player. The problem is we have a class hooker in Mitchell Rein. "So if Mitch is at the club, I think he has a great future, he is a future Origin star, and if Robbie joins the ranks that is another extra hooker on the books."

Marshall and Farah combined to bring the joint venture their most successful period, including the club's only premiership in 2005\. The 30-year-old Marshall has reinvigorated his career with the Dragons over the last two seasons after a short ill-fated liaison with rugby union. Marshall has previously said Farah would benefit from a change of scenery. However he said Farah was guarded about where he would be in 2016.

Farah has begun pre-season training with the Tigers, but Taylor has continued to refuse to guarantee him a first grade spot next year. Marshall said at the Dragons' corporate golf day, played at Sydney's The Coast Golf Club on Friday that he didn't know where Farah's future lay. "He doesn't say anything," Marshall said. "I asked him the other night and he said you will find out, I have played with him for 20 years but he doesn't tell me anything," Marshall said. "He said 'how good would it be to finish our careers together.

Benji wasn't really wanted anywhere either and he has gone pretty well at Saints. Robbie has been a great player for us. There is no reason he can't have a couple of quality seasons before winding down his career.

Benji and him also seem to get along and are friends. I get the impression that a lot of the so called inside information that gets bandied about is made up. I thought they hated each other when they were here together.

Marshall played with Farah for 20 years, yeh right, they started in under 10's at Leichhardt, wait a sec, Benji was still in NZ.

For all the potshots Farah has taken recently, he is currently twice the player Benji was when he left. I have no doubt the right club and coach could get 2 great seasons from him.

Oh when the Saints go marching in ,Oh when the Saints go marching in

I know who Benji wants at the Saints

Oh when the Saints go marching in

Good luck with that Mary and Dousty :roll

Hope they tear your club to threads as well

Robbie's gonna be busy in 2016

Bulldogs on a Friday Night

NSW Cup on a Sunday

Monday's with Dousty's Dragons

Then he'd be earning his $950 k a season

I don't think so. I feel that Benji has always been the better player.

I agree that Robbie is still a very good player. He is getting on, and his play in 2015 was apparently restricted by a coach who told him to put away his short kicking and running games and just shovel it on, Cameron Smith style, to the next forward lining up for a hit up.

I also agree that a decent coach should be able to get two more good seasons out of him, in the NRL, not in State Cup. We don't have a competent coach.

Benji is a good friend and a very diplomatic interviewee, I am still shocked to read some of the bile directed at him on here.

Just spare a thought for me, if Robbie joins Benji at the Dragons. I have been a football supporter for a very long time, and two of my all-time favourite players will be playing for my all-time most hated club! I will spare you a repeat of my feelings about the 1963 Grand Final!

I find this quote from Marshall interesting: "He doesn't say anything," Marshall said. "I asked him the other night and he said you will find out,…...."
This tells me that there is something to find out. If he is staying at WT, wouldn't he just say that he's not going anywhere, nothing to the rumours?

I was just watching sunrise this morning and Josh massoud had breaking news that robbie has requested his release last night. No word on where he is going but he wants his contact fully paid out.

well damn….

was hoping he requested a release meaning we dont owe him anything.

we'll have to pay him out the difference between his new contract and this one. So if he signs for 600k we owe him 350k

Will be funny if he ends up at the Dragons, because yesterday Matt Mcilwrick rejected their offer for the Sharks. Would be funny if they then turned to Farah, essentially seeing him as their fall back after failing to land a NSW cup hooker.

I think the Dragons will be where he ends up. Read somewhere that their fans-and McGregor-are keen to get him and that the Dragons not happy with Mitch Rein due to his non existent kicking game. Also not too far for Robbie to travel-Kogarah and Wollongong.

Interesting to see what happens over the next few days.
If Robbie moves on then so be it.
If he stays, so be it.
Players come and go, when it comes down to nitty gritty, **I don't care who plays in no. 9 as long as wests-tigers make the top 8.**

The only thing that would suck out of this if he went to the Steelers is that we couldn't get Mitch Rein cos we now have Ballin.
