I think the purchase of ballin means that in 2016 Ballin will cover Farah in the games that he misses while cherrington has a full season in nsw cup. I think if Farah moves on at the end of 2016, Cherrington will still have another year to develop under ballin in 2017 possibly coming off the bench and hopefully will be ready as first choice hooker in 2018 as ballin moves on as well

If Cherrington ends up being relegated back into NSW Cup for a full season next year, after being used in first grade quite a bit this season, then I think he'll leave.

He didn't play much of state cup this year though. He kind of went from 20s to first grade bench. Remember he was missing for like the first 10 games due to injury and pretty much went straight to NRL for the back end of the season. There were quite a few games where he was named 18th and 19th man for NRL and didn't play at all in any grades. Had a handful of games at most down there

Yeah that's true, but I still reckon he is a bit further along than many people believe. I think he should be playing regular first grade from the bench next season. I don't think a whole season in NSW Cup will benefit him all that much. Just my opinion though.

Ballin can barely even walk. Trading a fully fit Taupau for an average player at his best.. ahhh JT you've done it again

Taupau was going next year either way.

Ballin isnt an addition to crow about - I agree

hmm, who to believe… JT comes out and says Farah will be here in 2016 or some random doggies supporter whos "in the know"... tough choice but i think i'm leaning towards the kennel's mole.

As I said previously it's pretty scary when not 1 club snapped up the 2nd best hooker in the comp

Imagine if the 2nd best fullback , 2nd best prop , 2nd best centre , 2nd best 6 or 7 came on the market even at this late stage what would be happening ??

Maybe JT saying he'll be here in 2016 was a ploy to get a few members to renew before the death blow.

On a side note, what a glowing endorsement Farah received on the Kennel. A snapshot of how he's viewed by the majority of non Wests fans.

and we are lucky for it - at least he does not mind tackling, not a bludger

Ballin and Nathan Friend love tackling as well

And I bet they would do it for half of 950 k a season

I was surprised how anti it was. 2 pages only so far, but not one positive. Maybe half a positive: "he can kick alright".

Can someone give Farah the GPS directions to the Kennel where ever that is.

This is not a Farah bash…...just trying to be as fair all round.

Farah was told he could look elsewhere towards the end of 2015 season.

In that time......not one club has made a serious play for him. And it has nothing to do with the cap as the Tigers would probably end up paying most of his salary. Manly had no trouble finding $600k in a split second to sign Taupau. If Cameron Smith came onto the market you don't think clubs would be falling over themselves to sign him.

The fact is most NRL clubs no longer value Farah greatly. He is an aging player and based on his performances is not the player he was between 2005-2011\. He is still a tackling machine but clubs buy tackling machines for a 1/4 of Farah's price these days. Personally I think he is no longer NSW's best hooker either but thats Laurie Daley's problem. In that regard Farah needs to be realize that his so called greatness is a figment of his imagination......other clubs donot rate him.

IMO based on where the Tigers are....Farah's time and playing days should have been 100% with the WT and he probably should have stepped aside from SOO at the end of of the 2014 series. I think when you already have a player you are paying overs on based on performance, you don't need him missing for 6-8 games a year through SOO.

In respect to 2016 the question is what do we do with Farah. Regardless of recent performances he is still a club legend and deserves respect. We are already paying his salary so we may as well use him. With the reduced interchange surely the smaller forward packs that can play longer minutes will come into their own.

Nothing stops us playing Ballin at 9 and Farah at 13\. Cherrington could still come off the bench for impact.

We have to make the best out of the current situation.

JT coming out and saying his here in 2016 to me means Farah is definitely going…its like when they say the coach has the full support of the board.

Maybe the theory floated by ByronBaytiger that anyone who doesn't rate Farah must be a racist has some merit. Could it be that dogs fans hate the Lebanese?
