Maybe just in my opinion they should be careful what they wish for. Farah was really close with Aaron Woods and a few of the young guys. He kept Tedesco at the club.

Wonder if those blokes will be loyal next time around. I don't think so.

this is a rebuild,when we have a hope of contending for a title,farah would have been long gone.
i am salivating at the thought of cherrington playing hooker with reduced interchanges in the future.
i would have been more concerned about losing cherrington than farah.

Then good, they can go now. Any player whose only at the club because of their mates can leave right now. Doesn't matter if it's Jack Buchanan or James Tedesco. I want a football club, not a boys club.

Thankfully Gnr that is not your decision to make. Unlike you I like that our team is made up of players that are good mates that want to play for our club together - because at the moment there is not a lot that we have to offer to attract quality players from outside the club.

I think that everyone needs to get this point. Yes the club is a basket case right now and I think its the worst its been since the Wests Tigers started and that includes the Hoppa scandal but we will still be able to get quality players from the market if you pay them enough.

The first and last thing any player is going to do if they are leaving the club they are at will be look at the dollars.

I'd also add that if we start winning games we will no longer be a basket case but a club who has made the tough decisions and is on the improve.

I'd like to get some of what Farah's manager is on, he wants 2.4 million from the Tigers.
$2mill for this contract plus $400k owed for previous years, the reason why he is on $2mill this contract is because it included previous owed money.
Now they want both, and be free to join another club.
I think they have mint and buckles chance of getting anywhere near that.

I think the sooner fans treat the game as the business it is the better well all be.
Very little emotion left in it all for me… Been that way for a while now.

Funny how we've become so competitive on here on this issue.... I guess that's only natural when our team has shown only minimal competetiveness over the past four years.

Hard to understand anyone sticking up for Taylor over Farah in all of this.
Taylor has done, and is unlikely to do, anything for this club.
He has had no real success as a coach in the past yet there are plenty who are prepared to give him a free rein to do as he pleases, regardless of the cost or the results - including his poorly executed and inept handling of getting rid of one of our true champions (and life member).
As for me , ever since I was a kid I have supported the team and its players - be they champion teams or those running near the bottom, or champion players or those who don't quite make it.
Can't ever remember following the team because of the coach or cheering for one as he ran on the field.

Not sure I agree ck, I have tried to keep a very opened mind on this and I always come back to the fact that there must be someone really negative with him behind the scenes for WT to let him walk and give up so many $$$ to let him go. Then take a step back and look how it has played out…Houston at the knights, Ballin at the Sea Eagles, Lawrence...they have all been in a similar position and have handled it differently. In Lawrence's case he has been successful in renegotiating his contract and staying.

And this is where I see the problem as being. Robbie would much rather play this out in the press. He has been around long enough to know how it works, how to play the media, and he is doing it well. I dont think the current timing is a coincidence either.

He is one player and he is not worth the figure he is being paid. He could have tried to renegotiate it over three years, tried to renegotiate one yer and then take a lucrative offer in the UK, but he didn't as he preferred to play it out in the media. Maybe that is a measure of the man?

Why should he renogotiate anything. He signed on and has fulfilled his obligations.
He owes this train wreck of a club nothing.
He will get what his contract, and possibly something that's not possible here, a Premiership

Apparently Farah's manager asked for an immediate release and his final two years paid out in FULL…...I think both Farah and his manager are dreaming if they think this is going to happen.

The Tigers need to get something for him......you cannot pay someone nearly a $1M a year to play at a rival club. He can then then stay at the Tigers and play NSW Cup.....no chance of him playing SOO from NSW Cup, especially if he is on the reserves bench of NSW Cup.

I don't mind Farah being shown some goodwill here but asking for payment in full and an immediate release....well thats just RUDE and if its an example of how Farah has dealt with the Tigers over the past few years.....I can understand why they asked him to find another club to go to.

Very disappointing.

It's an example of a good manager. His job is to look after his client against a club tha rpt has already shown that a contract means nothing to them.

Can you please name a few of these clubs that always honour their contracts unlike the Tigers? :unamused:

It's a business it works both ways. We have been a beneficiary on a few occasions where players have been released early to join Tigers e.g. Todd Payten, Scott Prince which certainly helped for the 2005 title

They'd all sell their mothers if they could. And his manager is making sure that this club doesn't get away with doing that.
The major difference in this case is that Taylor stuffed the hatchet job early on and Farah if he goes , will go where he wants to.
I'd love to see more players dig their heels in when their club wants to shaft them. It's time that if they sign a player, they have to play out the contract.
And Vice versa!
