I guess the bickering over money starts now.

"ROBBIE Farah’s contract saga with Wests Tigers has taken another bizarre development with the battling club now deciding to deny the NSW Origin hooker a release.

Farah’s management emailed the Tigers on Friday night requesting an immediate release from the joint venture club

With six clubs lined-up to sign Farah, the Tigers have attempted to block Farah’s departure at the 11th hour after a last-minute backflip from the struggling club."

http://www.dailytelegraph.com.au/sport/nrl/robbie-farah-requests-release-from-wests-tigers-reports/story-fni3fbgz-1227617793159

And the six clubs are ??

3 in the NSW Cup and 3 in the QLD cup.

Doesn't this club know what it really wants . "He has to go"", …..aaawww now we don't want you to go.... But then ...maybe. Buggered if they have any idea!

Ayoub has outmanoeuvred our club. This whole episode is a disgraceful look for our club after the hope everyone had of a new beginning with a new Board.

Would it be fair to say that since the problem child has asked for a release? That Brooks and Moses will activate there Contracts for 2017 and will tell the Club to disregard the extension to June that they asked for.

To many coincidences of late.

Farah's Career will kick on as for Taylor? Everything will be answered next year.

Not just 2017….2018 as well...

Apparently Farah's manager asked for an immediate release and his final two years paid out in FULL…...I think both Farah and his manager are dreaming if they think this is going to happen.

The Tigers need to get something for him......you cannot pay someone nearly a $1M a year to play at a rival club. He can then then stay at the Tigers and play NSW Cup.....no chance of him playing SOO from NSW Cup, especially if he is on the reserves bench of NSW Cup.

I don't mind Farah being shown some goodwill here but asking for payment in full and an immediate release....well thats just RUDE and if its an example of how Farah has dealt with the Tigers over the past few years.....I can understand why they asked him to find another club to go to.

Very disappointing.

It's an example of a good manager. His job is to look after his client against a club tha rpt has already shown that a contract means nothing to them.

Can you please name a few of these clubs that always honour their contracts unlike the Tigers? :unamused:

It's a business it works both ways. We have been a beneficiary on a few occasions where players have been released early to join Tigers e.g. Todd Payten, Scott Prince which certainly helped for the 2005 title

In the end all player Contracts get honoured no matter what, any Club can threat a player all they want but all monies will be paid in a Contract make no mistake about that.
The only way a Club terminates a players contract is when such acts like Lodge, Carney, Ferguson have done.
Farah deserves playing semi final footy, good on him.

The Club can't be hypocrites now, they have done there utmost best to get him out of here…...If he is such the problem child that his been painted? You will except whatever offer is on the table. You can't bully someone into playing Reserve Grade then refuse his release, if this occurs? The Club is run by Clowns.

so now we are finally getting somewhere.

the insults are now done between both parties and now we can settle on price.

robbie was insulted that there was actually a thought of him being moved on.

now he and management ask for a demand that is insulting .
release with full pay is funny, but i'm not surprised the extra drama is from his camp.

No they signed a 3 year deal at the end of 2013 with a 4th year in there favour Geo, hence why the Club is wanting to know if they are activating there Contracts for 2017.

Haha, unlikely. The club are playing the game now and are not releasing him for what they don't believe is adequate remuneration from another club. They'd all but committed to having him on in 2016 so they'll hang on to him unless someone is prepared to pay a large part of the fare.

This is the worst move Farah could have made.

You've got to be kidding, Farah can't lose in this, no matter where he goes he will still be getting his money and his Soo spot, as well as a good chance of a premiership, if he goes to the Roosters

Yep…I guess in the end it's all about Farah...

Yep you're right, after all he's the person that the club is trying to shaft, and it's up to them to ( along with the club that's signs him) to make sure he gets the money that is owed to him,
I seem to remember you saying often that he will get his money,
Now that he may actually go, we may see how ethical they really are.

What are you on about.

Farah is going to get all he is owed. THAT IS A GIVEN,

WT have stated that countless times.

It is where the money is coming from that is the negotiation.
WT are not going to pay him right out to play for somebody else. If another team want him (as bandied around Roosters or Dragons) then they will have to kick the tin. As he is a SOO player so there is a minimum figure (maybe $400,000), then WT would pay $550,000 for each of the two years.

Yo are bringing up ethics when there is no need. He will get his full payment.

However one cannot be down on WT for trying to negotiate to get the most money from another club than they can.

OR do you think they should pay all the contract money for him to play for the Roosters and Dragons?

Apart from the Farah 2016 fans, no one wants to pay him out to go elsewhere for no return - no benefit to us. If no agreement is reached then we might as well have him run around in Reggies. He would have just as much chance to make the team as anyone else. I am sure there would be no prejudice.

This is a business GCT not a benevolent society.

Yeah I agree with you. Ayoub is an absolute Turkey, you can't ask for a release with full pay then go to your next Club and get paid another $400,000 to $500,000 per year with your new Club :brick:.
So he will be on maybe $1.5 Million per year? Nice try Ayoub…..I doubt the Club is that stupid.

Robbie should get his full 2 million. If he goes, say, to the Roosters, most likely they will kick in around $300-400k a season and we'll be up for the rest. Given his current Origin status the NRL won't let the Chooks put him on their roster for peanuts

From the Roosters he will get at least 400k a season plus some very handy TPA's.

Minibus and co wanted him gone, it's time to pay out the contract of $2m. I am sure Mr Ayoub can negotiate a new contract with the clubs chasing him independent of the $2m the club owes him.

Dumb and dumber have asked for a release. Taylor and Pascoe have played those two fools brilliantly.

They are contracted for 2016….Yes...the option is for 2017....I'm expecting Brooks Moses and Cherrington to re-negotiate beyond that now...cause I believe the children are our future let them lead the way...have I steered you wrong in the past...?

The position of the club has been the same throughout this saga… It wants to be in charge and doesn't want operational staff riding gun-shot over other employees or management.

Now Ayoub/Farah have folded, the club will control the exit, not Ayoub/Farah.

(I have never believed this saga was a Farah vs Taylor scenario)

We just make ourselves more and more of a laughing stock every year.

Having heaps of seniors players getting paid by the Tigers to play semi final football elsewhere.

The whole league is laughing at us I reckon.

Everyone thinks it great we are cleaning up all the salary cap, but who is going to want to come here and play.

I wouldnt worry about the whole league laughing at us. That laughter will soon be aimed at the club that signs him next.

I suppose we will see who is laughing in September really.

Thats the only true answer and how both parties are going.

In the meantime next year after every loss and every Tigers off field controversy I am going to come in here and blame Farah.

Because it must he his fault…

We will surge into the Top 7 now whilst Robbies new club faces certain crisis??

Right?!?!

Bahahaha… You're sounding like a crying teenage girl... Have a nap

Teenage girls are the ones that are calling the captain and club legend names and making fun of him at every juncture.

Backing a clown in Taylor who has proved nothing but a joke a failure at NRL level.

Meanwhile the club allow another contracted player (origin player) no less to walk.

Make it a long nap please.

Once you guys finish your pissing contest you might want to consider the possibility that both the club and Robbie will benefit from him leaving.

Robbie gets to go to a strong club and have a chance a winning a comp in his last few years and the club frees up some cap space and gets to move in a new direction.

At the end of the day nobody here knows the full story.

Dude it's the Tigers. Don't underestimate their stupidity. Anything is possible.

I can't believe people want the club to foot the whole bill and have Farah go off & make a windfall elsewhere (not to mention Ayoub). He's getting $950k a season minimum & that is well above his current market rate. Why would you cheer for any individual (and his manager) to get a giant pile of money? It's just pure spite against the club. Death riders, not supporters…

It's all a big game….a deal will be done and we will be paying about half his salary....about what we should have been playing in the first place except that humans his manager conned the old board. He is no tigers legend in my mind....just a an above average club footballer who never reached his full potential because he wanted to play petty politics instead of doing his job properly.
