Robbie Farah..Discussion Thread.....

come on…the injuries they had this year were off the hook.be fair.

Ivan has had far better rosters than us for the past 8 years. He had a good structure, good budget and one of the best mentors in the game for the last 3 years at Penrith.

They punted him for a reason, and the only obvious solution is he was punted for his lack of achievements or Gould thinks he cant coach. Sure as ever, if he fails in his first 6 weeks at the Tigers, Farah will have the same opinion :roll

There is no reason we should rush out and get him over other coaches on the market. To be fair, I fear a new 'boys club' evolving with all these blokes from Penrith.

Maybe Penrith have bought out Balmain's Share in the JV? We could be witnessing Gould's Masterplan for Western Sydney?

Robbie could be the new Mayor!

Right, and so has Taylor. Twice, with 2 different clubs. Though you can be forgiven for not knowing this as he's been heavily promoted throughout this mess as having achieved nothing but wooden spoons.

Here we go around in circles ago. AFAIAC Farah kept his dignity by sticking up for himself and the contract. Other players make their decisions that is their right. That does not mean that Farah has to copy them. He is lucky he has Ayoub.

Robbie does have a right to fight for his contract.

But the manner in which the fight has been conducted is the problem which more and more fans have had enough of.

His position at the club is untenable.

Thanks for the memories Robbie… Now bugger off and stop this charade!

That's what you don't understand. Farah does not have to fight for his contract. He has a contract for another 2 years. The fight he has had to put up is a reflection on Taylor and the Board who did back his request and subsequent actions. Why is Taylor still at the club?

I dont get the talk/praise for Cleary… He has achieved nothing more than Potter or Taylor.

GET BELLYACHE!!!

He has made the top 8 for starters, has attracted Marquee signings, took Panthers one game out of the gf, took Warriors to the gf

So he has achieved nothing then… Fancy not winning something with 2/3rds the New Zealand Team.

GET BALLYACHE!!!

I can't understand why a club with a brand which has been tarnished would want a well spoken and presentable young coach who appears to have a good future ahead of him and has a good rapport with players.

Has Taylor got a coach of the year award on his resume?

Why does it matter if they are a 'credible source' or not when they are just stating their opinion….?

Because statements like the club will announce within 48 hrs that Farah has a lifetime contract is not an opinion, it's something being passed off as fact. It's 96 hrs later and still no official announcement. It's things like this that make people defending these gossip columnists so funny.

You'd have more credibility if you ever gave any of your designated hopeless journo's credit on the odd accession when they are right. Instead of just saying everything is crap. theres been lots of times when they've been right, yes they've probably got an agenda, but then again, so do you.
And no I don't have a file on the times they've got things right, but they wouldn't have a job anywhere if they were forever wrong.
And maybe they don't like us, ( just like those referees that half the forum complains about after every loss, ) are biased against us.
As for it being over the 48 hours spoken of, maybe it's taking longer for Ivan to find a house close to training at Concord.
Just so that thought doesn't traumatise you, I'm joking

This is what people don't seem to get. I'd say all the talk i've seen from non-Wests fans, they're probably 80-20 against him. They aren't complimentary of Taylor either, but they're unanimous in who they see as the real problem.

I am an ex maggie supporter but did not bring any bias baggage with me to be a WT supporter. But seeing that you brought it up in a "funny" context I can return the serve - as it is the non-west fans that want Robbie gone then let the Wests have Robbie and their cashed up outfit and leave the Tigers with hero Taylor and the bum out of their pants. After the dissolution and presumably players contracts dissolved Robbie will play on the cheap to stay a one club player and SOO opportunist.

Sorry Steve. Outside our Tiger World the damage is done.

I walked into Bunnings the other day with my Tiger hat on and the butch looking chick behind the counter started laughing and ask "how's Robbie Farah going".

Having a beer with a radio host 2 days ago, and he was also taking the mickey out of Robbie. Says he will call me on air over the holidays to do a segment for a few laughs.

In 2 seasons from now they will be talking about our results. Since they could be as exciting as watching two cockroaches humping each other, they will be saying "Robbie Farah… Never Heard of Her"

This is what people don't seem to get. I'd say all the talk i've seen from non-Wests fans, they're probably 80-20 against him. They aren't complimentary of Taylor either, but they're unanimous in who they see as the real problem.

And where do they get their information from to form their opinion - all the sources that you are questioning as to whether they are credible sources. We all read the same papers/media. Farahs rep within the wider community is due to the press that has been written about him - unless of course you know him personally - then you can make up your own mind. The blame game will continue with this club until we can generate more money and win games. We have been trying to mix it with the wealthier clubs for years - they have been getting wealthier and we have dug ourselves in a big hole. Until that changes the names may change but the blame game wont.

It's funny that the general public is supposed to think so low of Farah, when the two polls that two main papers ran was approx 60/40 in favour of Robbie.
Maybe we're speaking to the wrong girl at Bunnings.
Sure it wasn't Taylors sister????

Everyone I speak to is 100% in favour of Farah. When they laughed they may have been laughing at the W/T situation and not directly at Farah. There is a difference.

This is sounding more and more like "The life of Brian " every day

GNR means fans of other Clubs..Non Wests Tigers fans to clear up the confusion…before it's derailed into a Wests/Balmain crapfest

Here is a insight into the subject..

Geo, thanks for that reference. I read first page only all shallow opinions with no back up arguments. For example..

BBF: if my memory serves me right the last few years at SOO he has been a standout and how did we go when he missed a few games? Anyone can make smart arse comments but to me I only see ulterior underhand motives.

Thanks for your references BTW I read them all.

Not that i'm aware of, no. Taylor has never reached a grand final like Cleary either. These are things i'm not disputing, i'm not sure why you bring them up?

I was more interested in this statement

I agree, you're correct.

Regardless of that statement though, Clearly is the better coach.

We're talking the same journalists who last yr claimed something needed to be done about Farah's influence, yet when something gets done they claim he's being shafted. Why should you give credibility to people who think you have an acquired brain injury and don't remember what they have written in the past, thus thinking you're an idiot.

And don't talk to me about agendas. You have just as much of an agenda as anyone else.

A few years back Robbie could kick a ball to drop onto a sixpence he was that good. Has he still got it what happened to it? One of the best kickers in the tourney he was then I thought?

The truth is that we believe the stories we agree with, and we refute the ones we dont - media's job to ensure they cater for both schools of thought. So keep arguing.

I agree with GNR on this. If the journos are writing stories that follow the wind they are useless journos. where is their integrity for honest journalism.
