Robbie for SOO - Challenge to forumers

I am a self-admitted Robbie follower. Think he is a genius hooker who is welcome to marry my either of my daughters (may have to wait a while though). Strongly believe he is strides ahead of Michael Ennis ( whose name interestingly rhymes with p….never mind).
Anyways.....the consensus is that the rugby league heavies (which really means the media) strongly favour Ennis as NSW's hooker, but those of us who look at the statistics can't understand the favouritism.
If I was brave I would ring the Sydney rugby league talk back radio show that is on on Sunday morning (is it 873 or 1015 on the am dial...can't remember) and ask for a statistical comparison. But I am too shy and will be busy eating breakfast in bed (?) for Mother's Day.
Can someone set the cat among the pigeons and ring and ask? I know every team has a group of vocal supporters on the radio etc, but I'm not one.
I think Robbie deserves our support.
Happy Mother's Day to all the lovely mums who support our team.

It isn't really about pushing players forward. It is about the Ennis lovers taking a reality check on what both hookers are doing week to week. If Ennis is winnig the battle then so be it…but I don't think he is.

Email sent.

_**Good morning boys….

Just a comment on the NSW hooking position.
Do you think there is a percieved bias in the media against Robbie Farah when the blues number 9 jumper is discussed?
>
Apparently some feel he's somehow not tough enough for Origin, his and Wests Tigers style of play go against him...personally I think he would be a good choice for the blues, we will need to score points against QLD and of all the hookers available I think he has the best attacking game.**_

...waste of time though, if he needs our help he maybe shouldnt be there.

I heard it and Zorba's reply was weak! He picked ennis cause he thought Ennis' form was better than Farah's?? FARAH'S FORM WAS BETTER THAN ENNIS'S FOR THE PAST TWO YEARS AND DIDN'T GET PICKED! IDIOT!!!!!

Chris I just heard your email being read. Well done.

We have to get through these brain dead fools what Robbie is the man for the job and not that overated grub Ennis.

I just e-mailed this…..

In the past, the selectors have tried picking players that are tough players and rugged in defense in hope of stopping the QLD attack. I dont care who they pick, they'll never stop a team that boasts a backline of Thurston, Lockyer, Slater, Inglis, Hodges and whoever is there on the wings. They've tried that for 5 miserable years and have lost 5 series in a row.
>
QLD are going to score points, no doubt about it! What NSW have to do is pick players who will score points and take on QLD in a points shoot out. For that to happen they're going to have to pick players who can score points or manufacture them. Farah is a player who can manufacture points and win a game for you. Ennis or Young can't do that.

LOL Zorba said it was a very perceptive e-mail and all he could say is that QLD have the better spine 1,6,7,9 being the Australian spine. Totally agreed! They didn't try and talk Ennis up or say that I was wrong.

I'm starting to think that when you put these so called "experts" and land them with facts they really cant talk Ennis up.

Missed ur email chris , I heard Hartley say in reply to mine he liked Ennis' antagonism - I guess that translates to he like Ennis throwing a punch then hiding behind his forwards.

He said this in relation to the incident below:

''But in saying that, do you stand there and let a bloke punch you in the head or do you stand your ground?'' Ennis said. ''

Mick thinks 'Cowering in fear and shitting yourself ' is 'standing your ground'

Hmmm yes tough and antagonistic.
I think gutless & cowardly

Ink I know some girls who would take offense at you calling him a girl . At least they would of backed their words up and no hidden behind their boy friends like Ennis did

I get so frustrated regarding this discussion ever year. It is an absolute disgrace that Farah gets overlooked by so many 'experts' of our game. Robbie has been the standout hooker eligible for NSW since and including Buderas' last rep season. If only we could get Bonstoker or someone who has awesome video editing skills to make a Farah vs Ennis package. I'm sure by the end of it, any arguments or question marks over his 'toughness' or suitability will be answered.

Yeah great idea…if the media wont push for him now they may change their tune when a ground swell of opinion created through videos and talkback discussions gains momentum.

It is clear going by the press yesterday and today that despite forming a very good partnership with Pearce in City v Country Farah WILL once again be overlooked for SOO.. He has no friends in the Blues selection panel…Well I say **c* em!...If Robbie doesn't make the Blues team I will once again be cheering for the Queenslanders to thrash the Blues!..and see Sticky and Daleys sorry face!!

The **Telecrap** is running a poll on who should be NSW hooker….Robbie, Young or Ennis...

So far Robbie is running behind Young...**lets get behing Farah!**

Not that it will make any difference but the SMH is running the same. Get over there and vote.

If they pick Pearce I think they will pick Robbie . Even he commented that he thought they combined well in a post match interview . That will carry some weight if Pearce is picked More than what some imbeciles in the press are saying anyway

I have a feeling Pearce is a shoo in for the #7..I hope you're right with Farah.

I think Young is a shoe in.

Gould has been calling for him for years and Sticky is a Gould desciple. If Gidley is fit and able to be the bench utility than IMO Young will be picked.

I have a bigger problem with the talking up of Houston and the seemingly guaranteed spot that Bird has and Heighno does not rate a mention. He would be the perfect guy to cover Gallen on the bench as they play a very similar game. Instead we will go with Creagh and another line running backrower on the bench and be let down by lack of starch yet again. Worse still Beauretard Scott will get another go after his failures of last series
