Robert Lui is up for sale with the off-contract playmaker resigned to leaving the Cowboys after losing his status as Johnathan Thurston’s scrumbase partner.

Two years ago, Lui spurned a massive $1.2 million offer from the Warriors to sign a 12-month deal with the Cowboys, who stood by him during a legal ordeal which saw him temporarily banned by the NRL.

But the decision to sacrifice $1 million has come back to haunt Lui, who is now on the outer in Townsville and fighting to secure his future in the NRL.

Three Sydney-based NRL rivals have expressed interest in Lui and his manager Mark Stewart concedes the indigenous pivot appears headed for the exits.

Keep him focused off the field, and he is a better option than Morgan.

Struggles with weight also

Manly will offer him something. Not sure who else would be interested.

I've never got the love for Lui, for me, he always took the wrong option and could only pass one way.

Even in NYC thought he was over rated.

Oh, Morgan is a much better player than Lui, Morgan is very dynamic and has a cool head.

Gun player, wish him the best, unfortunately he has made a stupid decision which has ruined his reputation but so have many other players that you would have in your team in an instant.

Manly would be a good choice given their culture.

Cronulla has a couple of ex Tigers so he would feel at home there as well.

Good player but very poor choices off the field.

Australia says no to domestic violence.

His then partner was pregnant too. I can't believe he's even in the NRL. Guilty not once but twice?! I would be livid if I was Todd Carney.

Yep exactly TS. I reckon it's karma that he missed the Warriors big offer, has now been dropped and probably won't find another club in the NRL - bye, bye!

It's a shame, when he was at the Tigers I met him a couple of times and to this day is one of the nicest players I have ever met. He wanted to stay and chat and ask about me and what I do and all that. Came across as a top bloke.
It's just unfortunate that he obviously has a problem with the drink.

He can play and at the right club he could do very well, I just do not know if Sydney is the right environment for Robert, Anyway he is now at the cross roads, he could fade out of the NRL or reinvent himself, the balls in his court

Hopefully he has learnt from his mistakes and grown up
