Rochow signs till 2019..

Ordinary footballer still i suppose someone has to play reggies

He's an upgrade on Lovett and Edwards. Both of which have seen a substantial amount of first grade over the last 2 years. Signing Rochow and not signing Lovett and Edwards is strengthening our roster, not weakening it.

averaged 70+ minutes ( often played 80 ) as an edge backrower at the Knights .
has played 72 first grade games between Storm,Knights & Souths .
has been injury prone
at 27yo & not commanding big $$ could be a good signing .

I asked a mate of mine how he is going at Easts. I stated when he first arrived at Easts the feedback was he was lazy and didnt want to be there.

My mate told me this week he has really improved over the last few weeks and is really putting in. He reckons he has alot left in him at NRL level and should be used as a Backrower.

I'll wait to see how he comes out of pre-season, but dont discount him.

Bellamy picked him up (albeit as a State Cup player,) so he must see something in him.

That was more Storm releasing Dean Britt to Souff's and wanting something in return but who knows if the Storm's other 13 forward stock options suddenly get hit with ebola Rochow may end up a Premiership winner..

They could have asked for anyone else in their squad. Bellamy isn't a charity case.

It would be funny if he went from State Cup to NRL Grand Final winner.

Remember in 1994 when Paul Osborne was pulled off the plane to England to play his first NRL game in 1994 for the Might Green Machine in the Grand Final due to Lomax getting suspended. He ended up a premiership winner and was on track to win the man of the match after setting up two early tries.

Fate is a funny thing.

Great depth signing if true. Require players with NRL experience

Would love to sign Adam Elliott from the dogs if he was being shopped around.

Jesus what do people want. He is mid 20s has played 80 plus games of fg and is signed as a backup backrower. Our current backup is kyle lovett and robbie is a signifcant upgrade. We already have mcqueen, lawrence, sue, taylor, eisenhuth, aloia, chee kam and masters who can play backrow so potentially he is our 9th backrower and he has played city country and 80 plus fg games.

Lovett has played 50 FG games, played city country, is 3 years younger, has not had back surgery or missed the best part of the last three seasons through injury.

And to continue on Lovett…....You forgot to mention lack of talent, which is what stopped the rest of us getting to the top too.

That should read, we might have McQueen, that's not certain that he'll be playing or not.
Even if he does play , I doubt he'll be much better than Rochow. He was nothing much before he was hit with injuries this year. If we are relying on McQueen or Rochow, it's time to be worried.

Everyone pulls out a bit more when it's contract signing time. It's what they do after that that matters.

Partially right. Osborne played 100+ games for Saints and Canberra, but struggled to stay in the top side in 1994 dur to injuru and took a UK deal for 1995.

The rest is correct, Sheens called him up as he was leaving for the airport and told him he wanted him to start the match. It ended up voiding his UK deal, and he couldn't get another FG contract despite that GF performance, so he stayed in Canberra and became a politician.

McQueen would not be a bad signing, minus back injury. I hope he gets his Compo and we get is cap value back quick. Then lets raid some clubs, but cast our focus wider then the Dogs.

Cowboys have great forwards galore, maybe people will be wanting to leave the titans, easts could probably be vulnerable to some raids.

Don't get me wrong, I would take an Aiden Tollman or Josh Jackson in a second. But our focus seems to be on Eastwood or Kasiano, why not aim higher then the Doggy dregs?

You need to keep up Chief, Kasiano signed with the Storm weeks and weeks ago.

Are you guys forgetting Aloiai, Eiso, and Taylor? Not to mention Marsters if he plays 2nd row.

I have no doubt Mcqueen will be back playing in 2018, and we'll have Rochow for depth as well as a couple of decent u/20s back row options.

Should be sweet for 2018, and I'm sure we'll be keen to improve it if someone better comes on the market for 2019.
