Roosters Dramas......Again!!!

I was sooo looking forward to a Robbie v Watts rematch…...won't happen now cause Watts will be freezing his butt off in chilly England most likely.
Carney....pffft....should give Robbie the Dally M from last year and then move back in with his mum.

What a grub hitting a woman. Cant handle that crap

Yeah me either mate but some woman do all the hitting first then ring the cops when they get a push.lol

Lets see how this one pans out there will be some twist in it .

I think Noyce needs to come out and be honest The club knows that Carney broke his no drinking pledge last week and needs to stand him down He has a problem and is an extrememly talented footballer and they need to save Todd from himself asap . Because all of these issues and problems are just going to make his problems worse . The pressure of being an NRL star are having their affects on his outside football life and will eventually affect his football career also . Stand him down until he has control again over his life

No he won't, if he gets a record the poms won't give him a visa.

Seeya later Watts you loser.
What a dead beat, loved seeing Robbie smack him.

Been saying this for years now….

Carney is an absolute loser in life. He can play footy but everything else about him screams waste of space.

I hope roosters man up and get rid of him.

He does not deserve all these chances he is being given. He'll be moving back to Goulburn by this time next year....cell block d.

As for Watts...if he has smacked out a girl then the cops will get him and roosters will have no choice but to terminate.

By rights Carney should be living on borrowed time at the Roosters given this latest episode. He's supposed to be attending AA meetings and here he is on the turps again. He clearly has issues off the field and it seems numerous brushes with the law and court appearances have not had the desired effect on him straightening his life out.

A press conference to announce that there has been no decision.

Well done Noycey

gave away nothing other to say that they are still compiling a report for the NRL, no anti social behaviour at the night clubs, spruiked the match on monday, offering help to the girlfriend, no decision made regarding punsihment, not much else really, just typical spin with no real information

The source I mentioned above now says the chookies will keep Carney.

We will know in a few hours I guess.

Having a philosophical moment…....
1\. if Carney had been playing footy 20 years ago this would be a nothing thread.
2\. he was out drinking on Saturday night. Anyone else on the forum doing that?
3\. He should still give Robbie his Dally M medal!!

1\. About Carney yes, Carney does have a checkered past, but this is a nothing issue regarding him, but it looks like being the straw that breaks the camels back. As for the Watts part, we may have heard about it then, the guy is the lowest of the low.
2\. Again, it's a nothing issue here, but when you've recently admitted to being an alcoholic and agreed not to drink while injured etc etc etc, it's not a very smart thing to do. The guy is either incredibly stupid or making a public cry for help, probably a little bit of both. But if Watts hadn't beaten up his ex, we probably wouldn't be hearing about this.
3\. I wouldn't object to that.

It's a shame because at the end of last year I genuinely believe he had turned his life around. Then again there will be a team willing to take the risk and sign him should the Roosters terminate his contract. My money is on Penrith.

From Noyce on FSN:

Carney suspended indefinitely, subject to professional medical advice.

Watts also suspended indefinitely and issued a breach notice. He will front the board in the next week.

**If the NRL has any interest in protecting their product they will not allow him to go to another club after being sacked again. He should be deregistered and not allowed to return.** His criminal record will ensure the English won't grant him a visa so he won't be able to chase dollars in the ESL.

As I said to HT earlier, Politis will do everything he can to keep the Roosters competitive, even if it is to the detriment of Rugby League as a product. This is unfitting of an ARL representative and shows that it's a glaring conflict of interest having a figure heavily involved with a club sitting on the ARL board and willing to let the game suffer publicly in order for his club to benefit.

That clubs culture is toxic and Politis shows no active interest or desire to change it.

The IC cannot come quickly enough.

I reckon legally they wouldnt be able to do that….tho im no lawyer

I guess I was thinking that lots of people have a drink on a Saturday night, and there is no evidence that Carney overstepped the mark. That in itself is no big deal. However, if the Roosters were soooo concerned about their star half (and he is a gun player), who has obvious drinking issues, they should have provided a higher level of guardianship over his activities. Any dumb wit would consider Watts to be a bad influence.
