Sydney Roosters have been hit with two breach notices, totalling fines worth $40,000 for two incidents following the controversial Anzac Day NRL loss to St George Illawarra.
>
The NRL issued a statement on Tuesday evening advising the Roosters had been hit with the disciplinary action.
>
In the first incident at Allianz Stadium Roosters coach Trent Robinson allegedly harassed referee Ben Cummins in the tunnel post game, the second breach notice is in regard to Robinson's scathing post-match press conference comments about Cummins.

Ive seen people here calling for JT to give it to refs recently…..but clubs have been getting fined for years, nothing changes...its pointless, especially when we are talking about a team as inept as ours

It wouldn't hurt to have a rant without naming names or approaching an official .

Coaches do it all the time without copping a financial penalty .
Robinson obviously went OTT .

Ash tray money for Unca Nick…

Lets see who gets the rub when they play the hapless Knights this week..

It used to be that if you gave the refs a spray in the press conference one week and copped the $10k fine you'd get a good run from the refs the next week.

Investment from Politis.

Besides, Robinson was 100% correct, especially in relation to Cummins. He should add Maxwell and Badger to the list.

The sidchrome refs. All tools.

Roosters to win the penalty count and get the 50/50s no matter how dodgy it looks

Theyve won the penalties this year round 1,2,3,4,5 & 7
6 out of 8 aint bad

I didnt realize that. They did use to be the bad boys in giving penalties away just like we do

Would rather JT give the players a spray instead of the refs.

Yeah… Surprised me too going thru the games

I was watching the game and I thought they got shafted on a few crucial calls, including the penalty for the hit on Rein which allowed the Dragons to go out to 20 and the penalty when they managed to turn the ball over in the last two minutes. The Dragons were doing a lot of lying down too, I hate seeing that.

You could see it was planned.

It was for competitive advantage in the future.

40 K is a drop in the Ocean for Uncle Nick.

bennett doesnt spray the refs and is somehow the most successful coach in history

reffing ain't gonna stop us getting beat by 54 by a mid table team

we should start taking some responsibility as a team and supporter base rather than blame the refs

roosters have it way worse than us and still went for a minor premiership three peat. and i dont say worse than us because they get penalised the most in the NRL - i say that because they get GIVEN the least penalties in the NRL - something that should have nothing to do with your team's way of playing except that a team that dominates the ruck should get more as the defensive team tries to slow you down excessively.

sure you can put it down to 'rorting' or whatever but dunno how much whinging will help

Statistically in the last two years, penalty count has minimal impact on results. I'm not saying that certain clutch penalties aren't crucial, and I can't measure that, but straight-out penalty counts don't amount to much (about 6% increase in win rate).

In comparison, leading at half-time gives a 23% increase in win rate, possession advantage gives 21%, less miss tackles gives 20%.

I can only assume that refs tend to level penalty counts across a game (I am sure they get a call from the video support to even up the count), such that by 80 mins they are more or less close.

Big difference between getting the penalty on tackle one 10m out from your own line, to getting the penalty on tackle 4 40m out from the oppositions line

I think they also scored two converted tries of very dubious non calls, one a knock on and the other a forward pass

At least there is one good thing happening in the NRL that softens the blow of seeing our club go through the wringer, the Rorters sitting on the bottom of the ladder is a joy to behold- should be more of it.
