Roster Breakdown: 2024-2029

Is this our 29 contracted top 30 players assuming we re-sign Sukkar and Mason?

1. Bula /Mason
2. Turuva / ???
3. Averillo / Herbert
4. May / Saukuru
5. Makasini / Tupou
6. Doueihi / Andrews
7. Fainu / Madden
8. May / Fainu
9. Korisau / Haywood
10. Twal / Seyfarth
11. Pearce-Paul / Sukkar
12. Fainu / Roberts
13 Frizell/ Murray

14. Brailey
15. Mann
16. Pole
17. Hunt

** If this is correct, we definitely need someone of quality who is a genuine contender or back up to play right centre or right wing.
** Both Makasini and Saukuru have previously looked like fish out of water when being asked to play on the right, rather than their favoured left side of the field and I think it’s a similar story with Taylan May.
It does my head in when so called 1st grade players can’t adapt to playing on either side of a football field.
Don’t know how we did it back in the 70/80’s
When there was not a left or right centre
Just an inside or outside centre that could pass the ball left to right or right to left and wait for it tackle with their left or right shoulders.
Ditto for the 2nd rowers.
Basic technique taught when they were young.

I agree, but it’s very common these days that players are much more comfortable and heavily favour playing either left or right side of the field.

I know if it was me and there was a better left centre in the squad who got that position and I had the chance to start as the right centre or sit on the bench or play ressies.
I would play right side with no arguments.
But then again this generation is more precious than us older generation.

I think all players can play left or right but have a side that suits their skills ability. At this level you want the optimum outcomes , not just someone who can do something at a level below. Simple as passing, not everyone passes great in both directions , not all players can flick pass either hand. Obviously they can do it, not just at optimum levels.
Just my thoughts
