Rothfield tips wooden spoon for Wests Tigers

Bottom 4 for me as well. One of the weakest playing groups for 2016.

Will still have my support as always.

Sue and Ava to have big years and more experience under the belt for our young team.

Just hope we play some attractive football and be competitive

Newsflash guys, we will be down near the bottom, just hopefully not collecting the spoon.

For me not improving on this year? Will be a failure and certain actions would need to be taken.

I honestly expect improvement this year. I think we under-performed last year and I expect our attack to improve and to win us significantly more games.

If not I'd expect the club to make changes.

The stats are horrible reading, gave away the most penalties, only 2 back to back wins, 4 home wins from 12, losing our strike forward plus our leading point scorer, captain told to play reserve grade, coach under the pump, no prominent signings.
Hell Rothfield has every right to pick us to come last, from an outsiders perspective we are favourites for the spoon, we missed the spoon on F/A for a 15th spot finish, and on the surface our team looks worse for 2016.

Your looking at the wrong surface Mate!

Maybe it is the benchtop.

Yes yes yes

I know rothfield has a few chromosomes loose in the top paddock but he won't be the only person to pick us as spooners.

I'm the type who always sees the positives in pre season but even at this stage I have us spooning.

Thankfully mat people are wrong 😕

To many negative vibes on this site … All teams start with zero points , a few surprises from the team next year one thinks... Time for some POSITIVE VIBES directed at Concord oval ,sport is a very unpredictable beast a good few wins next season I have seen in my tea leaves

In the 2016 NRL Premiership, Wests Tigers are currently equal first!

You are probably right, I was just saying from a non weststigers supporter perspective, we look to have gone backwards, that could help us in the fact teams may have already penciled in a win against us before the season starts.

Next year will be like the last few seasons, there will be the odd good win against a good team, but there will be also plenty of loses against teams we should be competitive against. We just do not have the raw power in the pack to be competitive week in and week out. By mid season our pack will be feeling the pressure from the physical demands of the NRL. I think the sloth will be very close to the money, but of course anything can happen

I think we will start ok but the week to week grind of NRL will catch up and that's where we are a bit thin of experience (of the knowing how to).

The Origin period will certainly test our resources.

851, I hope you are right.

If they have penciled us in for a win - that might be just the advantage we need to take it off them.

All.other clubs except GC have shown marked.improvment on paper. If we cas.somehow.aviod last I would be surprised….

I really hope RF gets angry and brooks moses and teddy feed of his determination..we have the.basis of a tremendous.spine.

forward depth.maynbe a challange

I think Taylor learn't a lot last year, and I'm hoping our attack steps up a gear so hopefully we should be able to avoid the spoon. still expecting us to end in in the bottom third. I hope I'm wrong.

All the tigers need is Dr Dank & a 2 year supplement program, and they will shoot up the ladder. Watch Moses become one of the most respected back-rowers in the comp.

Besides WT fans which we all have blind faith all other fans have us at wooden spoon favourites given our weak player roster, poor coach, No Galloway or Taupau and the endless Farah saga.

Brooks has not at this stage lived up to the hype surrounding him whether that is our poor forwards, poor game plan or Farah not given him control.

Still weak in the forwards.

My personal opinion we will finish bottom 4 battling out with Newcastle and Titans for the wooden spoon.

2016 could be a make or break year for Brooks, Moses and Siro

Year of the Broncos is my early pick for premiers.

clokan, not only will JT have learnt a lot from last year,so will our playmakers, the games of Taylorball so to speak was to teach them the defensive structure of NRL,they already knew how to attack…JT has recruited very well for our depth, something we haven't had for quite awhile,if you remember when Sheens played players out of position eg Fulton and Lawrence at five eight..next year will be a lot better than most expect..have faith brothers and sisters, there is a change happening at WTs......

If we DO go well this year…..JT is a dead set genius, which is the opposite of how I feel about him at the moment!

To be fair ghost, people just have to support JT and the squad and let them do their jobs…as I said ages ago JT is the boss and the players have to work to his gameplans,simple...
\
\
As Bennett said at the Broncs...we have a simple gameplan,we stick to it and don't stray from it,that's why we are successful..

That's what's needed here at the Tiges...let's hope it starts on a positive note and keeps getting better....cheers ghost...

Well guys,I personally think this season coming will be a "reformation year" for the WTs as a whole..the Admin should have learnt a serious lesson about how to conduct business in a Proffessional manner…the team and players should have learnt that the coach is the boss, not them...the coach should have learnt how to handle his men in a more Proffessional manner and coach the team as a whole and not to individuals, although some individuals may need more guidance away from the rest of the team...
All in all Iam looking forward to a much better year and I will say..and you can save this post if you like...we will finish closer to the eight than the wooden spoon..JT isn't as bad as some on here reckon he is and the season ahead gives him the opportunity to show us his good coaching form...at least JT has been given a hell of a lot more support right across the board than Mick Potter did,so he has no excuse if he fails to produce good hard earned wins..

GCT,before you try and hang me out to dry because I have given JT some support, you have to understand that people deserve the chance to show what they can do with all things in their favour...Mick Potter, who I held in high esteem, was railroaded before he had a chance to even get near what JT has been given...cheers fellow Tigers supporters...
