I just listened to Soward say that we have no five eighth , and that we should have bought one . His arguement was that we should played AD last year at 6 if we rated him that highly . And I have to say , that’s the most obtuse ,clearly misleading thing I’ve heard someone say recently , and screams confirmation bias . We had the fan favourite , sponsor favourite , all round good guy, who would never hurt the tigers (except the 1 time he got dropped and torpedoed the season ) playing there . He literally said , we would have played better if benji was there . We put 52 on a team !!.

I’ve climbed aboard , “god I hope we can fluke a couple of wins against the best teams “ hype train the last few years . But this feels different . Watching AD run over the opposition for that try , and Jimmy screams though to get that ball , he really had no right to get , are just a couple of tries we scored , that I honestly don’t remember those types of tries in recent memory . Plus the pack is going to do some damage .

Im just hoping that the senior players all come good and show the way for the young guns in our squad...that includes Packer who everyone writes off,JTJ who people bagged for being recruited,BJ who has brain snaps and Mbye who is a very good footballer when fit and given one position to play...
The young guys may go in hard and everybody wets themselves over them,they will need time and endurance to compete week to week at NRL level,playing top teams at full strength and not a 1/4 team that Manly put out yesterday will show what they have got to make it at this level...
Tamou is the main leader and he is a superb player and human being,just what the young guys need to look up to....

Jock Madden looks more like a halfback than a 5/8 to me. He looked more comfortable at first receiver when he came back on for Brooks at the end of the game. I guess we don't really have a choice but to give him his debut at 6 (I think Mbye is unavailable for round 1?). Hope he goes well and enjoys it.

Definitely a lot more dimensions in attack mate. What about early ball to Luci with support runners all around him. If they shut that down shift it right to Douehi /Jet who should be in acres of space because Luci has attracted a crowd.
