Looks good to me - however I’d start Twal at lock and put Peach at 14 if Musgrove can show some form to start at prop.
Luc onto bench for Kelma if he’s still around and not bludging. Kelma or Offa to 18.

Yeah, Twal is an out and out prop.
The game is moving away from front rowers at 13....

Lock is a unique position that requires some ball playing ability.... think Glen Stewart and more modern game locks like Murray, Radley and even guys like Yeo and Finucane who have strong offloads and footwork.

Twal is a rock in defence and better suited to the simplified role of defensive front rower. Every team needs one and he is ours.

The days of Twal at 13 should not be explored again.

100% agree with your thoughts on 13 role in current game. I suggest Twal at 13 only for first 20 mins then back into prop rotation. My thought is to have a big pack on early through the softening up period and to bring more aggression. Peach on when things are more suited to him. He also may need to rest Liddle at some point, Seyfarth can slot in then as well. I actually think the game has gone past even a mobile 13. Watching the Storm this season with Bellamy playing 2 hookers, multiple halves at the same time - ball players all over the park, showed how the game has evolved.

spot on mate. Twal can cover a prop after 20 and not let us down gives so many options.

past a mobile 13 is spoon as well. its lie th the last part of a game there are full attacking units needed on each side. 2x playmaker, hole runners and someone really fast PLUS a playmaker in the middle.

I see Twal and Tamou similar - They should never be on the field at the same time.
Twal would make the most impact coming off the bench at Prop, I feel the team would really benefit from him there also, tightening up the middle late in the first half (When we usually go to crap) He doesn't make a big enough dint against the freshies... Then when they're not fresh, Neither is he.
It doesn't matter how hard he works or how many tackles he doesn't miss - it's about getting the most out of him for the betterment of the team. a 20-25 minute stint either side of half time is where he should be.

Personally would be using him similarly, though I would be playing him the remainder of the match after bringing him on after 20/25 minutes depending on possession.

Alex is a good consistent monotone like player that will almost always fulfil his limited role week in week out. Just wish he would make another break some day, as well as scoring a bloody try.

This is a good team on paper but likely to be towelled up by the Storm. I agree Tamou is walking a thin line because he can be slow out of the blocks and the Storm will pounce on that. I believe Musgrove needs to start with Stef to add starch in that softening up period. Until AD returns I think we should tinker with Daine in the centres if JTJ fails. By playing Laurie at centre even for half a game until Peach comes on, it will give us more flexibility later in season if injuries hit or lack of form forces changes like the successful AD experiment last year...just a thought.

Few missing; Tamou unfortunately the game has passed him by, JTJ trained and trialed well last year too and look what we got, he is a magpie, Musgrove, i just don't rate him, Mikaele, limited to 17 but judging on his last years form, i just couldn't find room for him.

The reason you don't rate Musgrave is probably because you haven't seen much of him, he's been injured and also been a naughty boy. I'll stick my head out here and state that he would be one of a few players in our pack that is capable of putting fear into the opposition defence. The key is 'if he's fit and focused' he will be invaluable. Noone seems to see the Woods for the trees with this guy, I hope he proves me right. He's being quoted as saying 'I owe this club'.

Good team but I think we need a hooker on the bench plus is Peachy to small to start at 13. That backrow is not going to cut it.

Peachey Played plenty of 13 for the Titans, Also similar size to Radley, Murray - Even Smith.... about the same size as Elijah Taylor.
Our problem isn't the size of the 13, It's the lack of starch in the Back Rowers each side... When we've got quality there - Peachey will be the perfect 13 for us and a foil at 9
Peachy is perfect in that role

at this point these are the certainties

3 ?
4 ?
5 Maumalo

11 ?
12 Blore/Leilua
13 Peachey

14 ?
15 Twal
16 Ofahengaue
17 Blore/Leilua/Kelma

centre for mine is a complete mystery in terms of who lines up, if I was to hazard a guess we'll see Kepaoa and Gildart, but unsure on sides. back row is completely up for grabs, would love to see Kelma there and Luch playing for the Magpies as backup and potentially Garner on the bench.

I want Seyfarth there at all costs but knowing Madge he tends to back his senior forwards before looking towards the younger ones, hence why Joffa is there. Simpkin should be in the 14 but Madge does have a tendency to go with 4 forwards, so wouldn't be surprised if we see Simpkin in reggies with one of Seyfarth, Musgrove, Mikaele or Tuki taking the last spot on the pine.

I think leaving Luch on the bench/limiting his minutes will help tighten up the defence. Whilst he was an excitement machine with the ball, he was found wanting in defence. I would rather second rowers who can tackle all day, but don't ball play, than those that can, but go missing when needed to tackle someone.

How good is Seyfarth, 🔥🔥

Tuki is looking healthy too.
Dropped a lot of fat.
Looks trim.

Believe it or not, I really hope he does have a brilliant year for us. But except for isolated performances with the bunnies, I believe he is a fringe first grader who needs to work on fitness, speed and discipline to make that step in this modern game, cheers Cobra
