Agree. Whilst I look at the forwards and find it’s hard not to get optimistic the reality is majority of this side finished last in 22 with a few coming back from long term injuries as well.

The trial is as a positive start but it was a trial, comp points weren’t up for grabs.

We will be rusty and see errors lets hope we see something we haven’t seen for a very long time and that’s resilience & the fowards dominating.

Reserving judgement, but always hopeful. Too many unknowns- new coaches, combinations and reported playing style it will be a miracle for this club if it clicks from the get go.

Compare this to Maumalo and Nofa who both make decent yardage, but very rarely look like making a line break.

Maumalo was huge last year. He busted the line when he was belting it up against a set opposition.

Foran and Verrills are huge additions to their side. Will they get the best out of Fifita? Last year we only had one player who could tackle the guy one out...Luke Brooks.

You know what Eca,Im really looking forward to the opening game,only because we have great experience and keen young guns ready to perform...the only thing I will say is if they lose to a better team in the Titans I will put it down to them not gelling completely yet...this is a tough game played by tough men,however they all have to learn about each others calls and be on the same page for 80 mins,it may take a couple of weeks,but man when they do get it together they will deflate a lot of the popular teams...stay strong in the support of our team mate...

I think we’ll see a much better response in defence if the 2nd trial is any kind of indication. The boys seem less likely to be leaving it all to Brooks.

patience is required. the passes may not stick, the execution may be clunky and the combinations may not be there. this is the beginning of a new chapter.

very good game first up to see where we’re at. a team that will be at a similar point as us on the ladder come the end of the year. first four weeks (Titans, Newcastle, Bulldogs, Melbourne) will go a long way towards indicating where our ceiling is.
