LIVE GAME Round 10 v Storm

Live Game Discussion
Because we are shit mate

We have no depth

Manly will destroy us

I hope I'm wrong

But Melbourne are average and weren't great today

And they still had a field day

If manly aim up and I'm sure they will

We will fold

We have folded 2 weeks in a row

You haven't noticed?

And it was against 2 average teams

Rabbits walked all over the all conquering sharks from last week
Are Melbourne really average, really? Or did they just have a bad run for a while this year, trying to cope with the loss of key players during the offseason like Paps and Katoa?

And this same Manly side was dogshit in the early rounds. Your predictions are for nothing. So much recency bias, because Manly have had a good run, which many teams have had already - good and bad runs in the first 10 weeks.

Your Rabbits example is EXACTLY what I am talking about, you would have expected the Sharks to give it a red-hot go but they were pumped. Nothing of prediction is close to accurate this year except a general idea that Panthers won't let you down. Everyone else is bananas.

Maybe...
But i dont think it equates to 96 points in 2 weeks.

True but you have to look at the situations, Shark Park on a Sunday arvo and the Storm on a Sunday arvo. Also, the mindset of the opposition.

Actually, I thought today showed enough that we could get back on track when we get back home with some cattle back

I hope you are right.
I just cant buy it.

Our spine is responsible for organising the whole team … I’d argue against that not having them in the team is the reason we conceded so many points

Api leads the line speed and is one of the best attacking 9’s in the comp

Bula organises the defensive line from the back and was one of the form fullbacks in the comp before his injury

Doueihi is consistently our best player and puts his heart on his sleeve
I agree with you 100%, but also there is more to it.

Defence is not about holding out the opposition for set after set. No team can do this and every team will lose without possession. Defence is about short-term wins that give you a platform for attack.

If your attack is dead, you will give the opposition a leg-up every set and you will gradually be ground down. E.g. last week Tigers held Sharks for a good while before the flood gates opened. Sharks then got confident, won most of the tackles and started to chuck the ball around. 2026 NRL is very difficult to stop momentum, the swings are big. Even last week Broncos scored 24 points against Roosters, out of nowhere.

I know man..

but our spine isnt responsible for letting in that many points.

we are about to lose 6 on the trot again.

Its a carbon copy of last season.

Manly will put 50 on us next week, thats just the reality of the situation.

I cant be optimistic, because theres nothing to be optimistic about in the next 4-6 weeks.
That’s the attitude.
Like I said earlier, thank god this squad don’t think like you do.
EVERY game can be won in this competition.
Manly were useless only 6 weeks ago.
It can be turned around quickly if everyone buys in.

Harry Grant is a really grubby player. Not in the Cam Smith class but he is close. He should be penalised every tackle he makes yet he never gives 6 to go away, ever. He is a protected species by the NRL corruption juggernaut.
I didn't mind when they protected him in a Tigers jersey.

Bloke is too canny, I don't blame him for being so clever. For every Jack Hetherington penalty machine there is a Harry Grant.

Maybe...
But i dont think it equates to 96 points in 2 weeks.
Probably not, but you’d be surprised how much a couple changes can affect a team. T’oa, Madden and Tavana had 7 tries put on them last week v Sharks

We are still a long way away from next man up at our club, injuries are sadly part and parcel of the NRL but losing 5 of your best players will destroy any top team, even panthers

What do you mean though? For every hit head like Hetherington there is a sneaky dog getting away woth murder? I dont blame him either, I wish our players could do that and get away with it. His manipulation of the ruck is all on the officials allowing it. Unconscious bias, corrupt....call it whatever we like, same result....some can do things while others cant

Instant pessimism? We have had 96 points put on us in 2 weeks.

Based on what you have seen, what chance of beating Manly or Penrith do we have? There is every chance we concede 50+ in both games. That could be 200+ points in 4 weeks.

I'm being realistic.
There's no such thing as "realistic" when making predictions. And it is pessimism; I don't want to go Mr Dictionary on you, but pessimism is literally the prediction of negative outcomes. Optimism or pessimism, or neutral; no such thing as "realistic" for future events.

And you didn't say "every chance" of conceding 50, you said they "will put 50 on us next week, that's just the reality".

I'm not saying you are definitely right or wrong, I'm just questioning why you think we are definitely going to get nailed next week, because we had 2 bad weeks. In my book that is instant pessimism, because 2 weeks before that most fans were pretty happy about how we were travelling.

How do you know that the team doesn't turn it around? I won't say the odds are good, but you are predicting another 50 point loss. Natural for Tigers fans, I get it, but that's just not me. I'd stop watching if that was how I felt all the time.

I think they have all bought in, but our depth is trash.

We are only a chance with our top 19 and no injuries.

I mean I don't think the officials are complicit, my belief is Harry Grant is actually very clever at not getting caught. There are smart thieves and dumb thieves, and the dumb ones get caught. I think Grant is an expert at pushing the boundaries but never going too far.

Koroisau on the other hand is whole-hearted, 100% forceful clear effort and gets done for dangerous throws and cannonballs and hip drops 3-4 weeks minimum every season.

I agree with you there, calling on Geyer, Murray, Hope... pretty lean.

The main upside for Tigers is the backline cover is better than 2025.

Its literally the referees job to see that stuff....they watch videos of games, are full time professionals, if none of them have seen Jarry Grants illegal tactics then the game has more issues than I thought. I dont believe it missed, its overlooked IMO

Yes Melbourne are shit

So are sharks

They both pumped us

We took the comp by surprise

We have a few out ( just like every other team)

The surprise is over

The Tigers of old are back

Yes I'm disappointed and hope I'm wrong

I certainly hope they prove me wrong in the next month until we get players back

Even fitzgibbon is fed up with the shit sharks

Re Refs...

Look we seem to be getting a bad stick, but I would do a Penrith after the game.

Have Benji announce that he is concerned about Harry Grant, say the player was clearly injured and showing the effects of a head knock. "why wasn't he stood down?" Clearly the NRL is not taking this seriously enough. "Wobbles" needed to be pulled from the game.

We can't blame the ref, its silly. Yet we are getting dudded. I am happy to play sillybuggers till we get a fair hearing.

No excuses Benji. Get the side cracking. Lets though have some fun with the refs that dud us.
