We still have 4 props in the line-up. Twal wears 13 but he's a prop.

Naden and Bird on the bench is puzzling, but I don't think we're necessarily short on a prop. A lot of the successful teams are actually using smaller guys as middles and they're thriving in this 6 again, quick play the ball era.

Everyone hammering the bench selections are failing to see the much bigger picture here which is glaringly obvious. We have paper thin squad depth & once one or two injuries hit particularly in the forwards this is what happens.

I think most of us are very aware of that - its the fact Naden is on the bench instead of one of TDS, Hope or Mason.

It's pretty obvious, Naden has had some good games in reggies in the halves, so the first time Galvin stuffs up, Benji hooks Galvin and sends Naden in. 🤣

I honestly think the club hoped/expected (more hoped) that Matamua, Kit Lualili'i & maybe even Broederleow might step up & challenge for playing time. That would have added depth.

None of them have.

I wonder how far Charlie Miller is from contention.

You’re kidding, right. You think this is a deliberate move by the club ? To achieve what - another merger or relocation ?
We cut them coz the value for money wasn’t there, and maybe there are presently not a whole heap of options available to us.
Remember the secret of winning is to keep your powder dry as long as possible and don’t shoot( or buy) until you see the whites of their eyes !!!

I must admit when they let Klemmer go, I expected them to have a prop replacement or two brought into the team at some stage over the next two months ,,,

I'm thinking Benji is concerned we get monstered in the pigs again like last week. With Fonua out we are going to miss his size and go forward. If we play both TDS and Bird off the bench then we are looking very lightweight, especially when Roycey need as breather after 15 minutes. Hence adding Naden to the bench. As much as I hate to say it he is the only real option that offers any size.

We got players. We have no coach. With coaching experience. But Benji did put us on the map as a player. The honey moon period is over for the season. 5 and 5. Best we done in many years. Let's be grateful for the baby steps.

Wouldn't it better to give some reserve grade forward, with a little bit of potential 20 minutes off the bench to rip and tear.

TDS and Galvin were laughing as they were walking out the tunnel last week, when you see footage in the sheds they stick together very closely.
