I think 8 losses in a row really makes you start to think. After years of failure, it was always going to be a hail Mary play to give Benji the coaching gig. IMO he seems very good considering his experience and looks like he may make a good coach. However can he turn this lot around? Maybe Richo needs to have a chat with him. We can't sack him, but i think it would be very admirable if he put his hand up and said I'm not ready yet, allowing us to bring Arthur in.

Theyve already put excuses in places (we are focussing on D this year) so there'll be no turning this aroind... Though except for a shitty opening 20 we could've won tonite.
Dunno what Richo doing in ol blighty other than trying to sell firewood... Hopeful some recruiting too tho I thought we had recruitment managers and player agents do these things.
I actually thought for a little bit tonite we'd get them but not to be.
Still can't play 80... Still. Can't do so many facets of the game

I actually think we are playing with heart but our roster is by far the worst in the comp. We are smaller, weaker and slower all across the park. We always get dominated. We just can’t compete with the cattle we have

I think our reserve grade forwards did themselves proud. Bodes well for next year.
Solomon let in a couple of tries early but came home much better with some more confidence.
Our bombs go long and shallow, not really bombs, just raking kicks to their fullback. Our kickers need to get the balls higher---longer in the air; and maybe not as deep if you expect to challenge for the ball.
Also our restart kicks land about 10m out from the goal line and they run it to the 20m line for tackle one. Not good enough.

Don't let Yourself get too down IGWT.
Easy for me to say, but not quite as easy for you to do, believe me when I say it's not worth it.
If you don't have good, understanding and caring support, talk your local GP as a starting point.
I had to talk to my GP last Monday.
But I have other stuff going on in the background, which then makes the Footy results seem much worse than it really is.

I couldn’t believe it when they sacked Madge to replace him with Sheens and Benji but that was nothing compared to sacking Sheens and elevating Benji to head coach.
It’s THE most unwarranted coaching appointment I can think of.

Didn’t even serve an apprenticeship, in the lower grades for a year. Worst PR stunt ever.

I reckon that the bench middles made a big difference, particularly Matamua who got our attack moving.

May as well give Matamua the rest of the season at lock. I think there’s a player in there. If we do that, At least by the end of the year we’ll know if we have a 13 or we don’t.

He definitely needs someone with speed to get the ball to.
He has a great footy IQ, and vision, but can't do it all on his own.

This is so true. Although he gets enough crash balls in the red zone (mostly on the fourth tackle). There is still a ‘slight’ chance he might get over that way one day.

Bula's 1st attempt at catching the high ball was just plain Pathetic 😡.
Then a later one where he caught the ball was just plain Fabulous 😀, mega determination shown.

Unpopular opinion but Bud's showing real improvement

Improvement yes, but a long way to go. Took on the defence a bit more but not impressed with his kicking. Finds the fullback almost every kick. The kicks are too deep and not high enough.....in the air long enough, for our chasers to get there and put the pressure on or challenge for the ball.

Recruitment of first and second team players so that there is always an option to drop someone not performing.
Improved training and expectations including more stringent discipline around performance, both on and off the field. All this high fiving when someone makes a major error is bs imo. Senior players have to set the standard and expectation. At present there is no real discernible reaction.
Clear plans each week highlighting errors,( the what why and when) with both one on one and team talks, the repercussions of these errors.
And shake hands at the end and then leave the field immediately instead of taking part in a love in with the opposition.
Just some ideas, some may work, some may not coz the young men of today don’t really respond to real discipline, do they.
