LIVE GAME Round 13 v Bulldogs

Live Game Discussion
6-4 penalties is much closer than the 0-7 in set restarts. did you see some of the penalties the dogs gave away? Leo Thompson pushing seyfarth over as he played the ball.

Check this angle out of the kiraz and turuva "clash"
Also just saw critta attacking makasinis head when makasini was making a tackle on galvin.

Then another on makasini giving him a crusher (after being clipped around the head by tuala)
Was there any parts of the game you enjoyed?
It seems you’ve put a lot of work into identifying the negatives.
FTR I’ve never once said the refs don’t stuff up. They always have and likely always will.
I maintain that it’s the way the team responds that determines the result and last night proved this. Just because you get a rough penalty doesn’t mean your defence falls to mud. Likewise just because you aren’t getting 6 agains doesn’t mean you stop scoring. You shouldnt rely on them.

Call me crazy but I, like Benji, have no problem with the officiating in that game. Sure we could’ve used a 6 again or two, but we won the penalty count comfortably which got us out of our own end a few times when we were struggling, as well as a gifted 2 points. The bunker rightly overturned 2 of their tries also, which rarely happens for us so I saw that as a bonus lol.

There were some dodgy calls both ways for sure, but hardly enough for either team to be whinging so loudly about, imo. It was a good contest and the better, more resilient team prevailed.
Penalties are almost black and white. Head high, picking up ball in offside position, tackle in mid air, and escorts etc... they were the penalties we got.

Six agains are all about the ruck and referee wants to control games through ruck speed. I completely understand that 5-15 minute period, we were laying so slow and lethargic and Seyfatth gave away 2 set restarts, but to say Dogs were perfect is wrong.. even when we were winning the ruck, we made a couple of line breaks and the ref couldn't find a single person offside?.I find that BS

Then add to that Twal wrapping with his L arm but still saying shoulder chaege, Galvin no try, Tupinua staying on the field despite shoulder charge to head without any mitigating circumstances.. all video ref calls.

Curran no try may have been against spirit of the game, but not against the laws. All the above were against the spirit and the laws of the game.

I value your opinion, so if you think I'm being bias, then that's fair but even after the adrenaline settling down and looking at replays, I feel the same

Feels good waking up after a win
Many hard games ahead

13 wins might jag us a top 8 spot
Lots of work to do

Love MY club
It feels fantastic eh
Suns shining, two points banked

It would be nice to have an injury free spell I reckon weve had our share already
Thinking 13 wins might be a bit beyond us, Ive just had a look and being generous
I can see 11 in total...though its a funny game teams are losing games theyd expect to win, and vice versa

Insults people instead of debating the merits , thinks an opinion is a fact and is incapable of nuance or reasoning,,, but the WESTS TIGERS WON tonight so I’ll go to bed happy and imagining that Tuck is dutifully emailing Cameron Ciraldo to let him know that the Referees have no influence on the result and never make incorrect decisions ( and only losers and weak people blame them), unless it’s an Origin game that negatively affects qld or is a rule that he doesn’t like ! 🥳😂😜💯
You saying this just proves what I’m saying about your posts are true.
Never have I said the refs are angels. Never have I said they don’t make errors. Never have I said we don’t get more than our fair share.
Never have I said the opposition doesn’t deserve more penalising.
WE CANT CONTROL ANY OF THIS!
What I do say is that historically we are a poorly disciplined team and this is what we can control.
How we react to the added pressure of repeat sets can be controlled.
Using our allotted opportunities to score points can be controlled.
Slowing the game down to provide strategic breaks can be controlled.
Forcing the opposition into error can be controlled.
How we prepare for and react to adversity during games can be controlled.
We proved last night we can do all of this and we did it with a weakened team. You know why? Because the squad didn’t sit around sulking like some of you do. They dug in and earned one of their best wins of the season. This is what I’ve been wanting and I’m a proud fan today. The fact you and others can’t see this due to your perpetual victimhood mentality is sad.

Very sensible post.

I don't think anyone is saying that the players should have sulked and I think Benjis presser proved that.

Youre behaving like we as fans control how players feel and they should feel how we feel.

All we can do on this forum is discuss the games knowing our discussions don't really influence anything..

Bula's try was so well put together and he has struck up a great combination with Pearce-Paul. Pearce Paul must be close to one of the most influential buys of the season.
Absolutely! Add Doueihi into that combo and you have lethal attack. I dare say we win by plenty if Doueihi was there combining with those guys last night.

I was actually thinking that. Offloads are usually off the cuff but KPP offload to Bula are well timed and seem like set plays.

Well how about mentioning all the good things we did then?
We won the game FFS! and the sooking on here is out of control. The coach, the players, the expert commentators are not banging on about this stuff.
They instead focus on the positives.

We are not players,.coaches or commentators who have to be PC

Hate is a stronger emotion than happy, so people are showing their anger.

There are so many positive comments too, you can choose to engage with those posts.. esp in 3,2,1 therad, look how much positivity there is.

It’s not PC…they mention it when it’s warranted.
A lot of the negative takes here are blinkered and sometimes incorrect. They also display at times a lack of knowledge of the nuances within a game.
Instead of praising a heroic piece of defence, they bang on about a potential missed ref call 3 plays earlier.
There’s no getting away from it. It infests every bloody thread. Very similar to the HBG stuff at the start of the year.
