LIVE GAME Round 13 v Cowboys

Live Game Discussion
Go back & have a look at the Paulo try. How the hell didn’t the bunker see the lead runner hit Mason’s outside shoulder impacting his ability to come across in cover. Wasn’t even mentioned in commentary. Mason needs to learn to blow up.
Paps in the Storm GC game today did a wild sideline run n a kick thru on the 2nd 15 out, im thinking what? It was a play on call from a GC knock on , point being our players need to have that hard wired into them ,how to implement the rules to our advantage. Samuela got done catching a ball flat footed in goal last year, buggered a 20 restart , its just school boy errors that stop us competing on a higher plane, which isn't hard to fix. Its tardy from a professional standard

The sin bins and errors in the first half really hurt us. In saying that though I was really impressed with the boys digging in for the second half. We’re still a few signings away and struggling with depth, but it was great to see the boys fight back. A year or two ago these are the games where the Cowboys would put 60+ on us.

Lots of work to do, but there were some positive signs to continue working with.

Does anyone really think we are anything but a cash cow for the NRL and the owners of the franchise?

Want some extra money as a player? Go to the Tigers
Want some money in the media?.write an article about the Tigers

All clubs out there talk about their systems and all, we are just individual players trying to do it all ourselves so that another club can look at them and pick them up.

The goals.of the club and the fans done align. The owners just want as much $$ from us as possible which happens regardless of win or loss.

They put a coaching team on that has zero experience but have a profile to sell tickets. No one here in the governance has absolute any idea how to win comps and has been relevant in the last 10 years.

Shit team, shit club.
Yeh yeh yeh keep going with a boot to the head of the "owners of the franchise" the owners who "just want as much $$ from us as possible" the owners that pay all of Balmain's bills to enable them to stay in the JV.

Just re-watched the Luai sin bin. He made a dominant tackle and laid on the player for 3.5 seconds… 3.5 seconds at one point this season represented the average amount of time the opposition laid on our players in a play the ball.. In this corrupt league, what’s average for our opponents is a sin bin for us. Go figure!

Has anyone ever seen Turuva actually play centre before? I know there was talk of him playing there when we signed him. Merely thinking out loud but if Skelton comes back, I'd be tempted to drop Douehi for Turuva.

1. Bula
2. Skelton
3. Turuva
4. To'a
5. Staines

No other reason than having a back five with speed and athleticism. I dunno though, tough on Douiehi and don't think he has been our problem, just spitballing really. Would think it would help with our go forward out of our own end though for instance as well as more of a threat with ball in hand.

Doubt he'd be up for it but I also think Douiehi best position could be playing the Bird role from the bench. Would need to be able to play some minutes in the forwards though...again just spitballing...

I'd like to congratulate @Tucker for the number of excellent quality posts he has done so far in this thread.
No abuse, just common sense and well worded.
I wish there were many more on here that could express themselves as well as he does.

I think Douiehi offers more in defence at centre than Turuva would. Also, who takes over the goal kicking? Api? If Api is off the field who takes it on then? Staines? Turuva is a great finisher, leave him at wing. I do like your idea of Douihei playing the bird role, but I’d like to see a specialist centre come into the team first. Bird is cooked, good depth, but shouldn’t be in the 17 every week.

The last 20 mins doesn’t cover up how ordinary we were for the first 60mins. Losing Twal really hurt, whats the point of having hunt?

4 peat is on, really tough supporting the club, heading back into the darkness. Really needed Luai to step up the last 2 game and nothing.

Doueihi's sin bin was a joke.

That’s not a rule dude ! No disrespect … but that’s not how the game is normally refereed mate . It just isn’t !
He could have easily had , called time off and said next one is in the bin. But he chose the most extreme route . Which isn’t in the spirit of the game . I’m not debating whether they were penalties . They were . But I don’t think anyone reasonable saw the ref go straight to send offs.
He definitely skipped the middle step . And I’ve never heard of 3 penalties in a row is the bin … spare me that’s nonsense . Him and his mate Klein are notorious for making shit up on the spot .
If the ref doesn’t want a behaviour to continue he is obliged to warn the players .
It’s not high school detention mate . They’re there to keep the game even and fair . That’s litterally thier role . It’s not to not pick penalties .
The referees seem to have to totally forgotten thier remit .
Especially whenever they officiate the wests tigers … except for Turuva , you can take his legs out before the ball lands whenever you want.. also you can tackle him without the ball .. all good !! Bloody joke bunker

The owners who give 1/5 of every other owner to their franchise .
Can’t wait until this dinosaurs die , and the next gen of people are locals and don’t want the hassle of running an nrl team .
We can finally get some people who own the joint that actually care about anything more than a corporate box on a Sunday afternoon.

I was at the pub and the sound wasn’t great. The last kick to Drinky - it looked like he used the ground to catch it so was knock on. Was this what the commentators said or he regained it?

Luai Sin bin no warning given
Douhei sin bin was just a penalty
The try just before half time hurt, just letting drink water run by
Nanai takes our Mason on outside shoulder denies him a chance to cover tackle
Turuva taken out before given a chance for a fair catch, doesn’t matter if he was looking at the ball.
No sin bins for us

The NRL are happy that we come last, we still get crowds, clicks online and media.

Ashley Klein needs to be investigated for his corruption against us.

I hate the NRL, wish i could just walk away

Again the culture of this club is always to settle for mediocre improvement after 3 spoons.
Look at the Dogs, spoon in 2021 then top 8 in 24 and lead comp in 25. Agressive recruitment starting at the top-Gould ,Ciraldo. What do we do, apprentice coach Marshall.
So 3 years to get into the 8 from spoon for the dogs. Yes we have 3 spoons in a row but real change didn't start until Richo came on board. Give it a bit more time, as frustrating as it is, before damning everything that's happening. Like some others, I feel there is a change in the air this year. If not for Bratfink we may have been in a better position than we are. Given the way that panned out and it's seeming effect on the team while it dragged on, I'll be happy to not get the spoon this year.
